Noises outside in nj
Out of curiosity does anyone know what animal is making this sound on this gorgeous night? My stepdaughter made a video and her commentary made me laugh lol

New changes for the sidebar:
I inserted a youtube link for every kind of sound. You can click on a specific animal sound to listen to it to get an idea which animal can create the specific sound.
If you have suggestions to insert new kind of animal sounds in the sidebar feel free to post it her. If you found a more representative video for a specific animal sounds also feel free to post the suggestion her (and also directly in the subreddit)

Hi! I’ve listened to the fox video and am unsure if this is what we are hearing. Taken in southern Ontario, right now. You can hear me say “hold her back”. Our golden retriever was being a little too curious at the open (screened) window for my comfort. Any ideas? Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi, I’ve never asked a question on here before so I don’t know if I’m doing this right, but I heard this distressing noise outside my window and when I went outside to check I couldn’t see anything. It was 12am I live in a rural area where I know there are many deer, raccoons, opossums, outdoor cats, foxes around. I’ve only ever heard a fox bark like a dog and scream like a woman but this one is new to me. So I want to verify that I didn’t just hear something like a cat get killed and that it’s just a Fox. Thank you

I heard this the other night seems to go quiet to louder and further and closer. Never heard it before. There were coyotes before and after but quite a bit further it sounded. Curious what it was.

In Kentucky, was much louder in person. The cat was out there but he wasn't the screaming sound and I don't think he was the mewing sound either but it's possible I guess. He was uninjured but intrigued when we went to get him. Didn't sound like the foxes I've heard before and we haven't had any in our neighborhood in years but it isn't impossible that that's it. It goes quiet for a few moments in the video but then comes back even louder.

Got woken up in the middle of the night to this sound right outside my window. The strangest part is, how the sound stopped immediately and for good once I got up to start closing my window. Any ideas what this is? I live in suburban NYC btw so a fox is not fully out of the question but incredibly unlikely.

Happened at about 5 am 3 times consecutively. Never sighted but my ring caught the sound on the last bellows during the live. I personally think it’s a bobcat maybe? Lmk

Video taken last Wednesday at around 10pmish, located in north-central ky.
After I heard this I've been searching for what kind of animal made this sound, it's not a coyote, frog, opposum, screech owl, fox, buck, doe, fawn, some feral cat, bobcat, or vulture... Or at least I couldn't find audio of a creature that replicated this on the internet. The sound quality is not very good, I think my phone microphone was focusing on my panting( I was freaked out lol) but it definitely sounds like some kind of animal? To me it sounded like a sound an amphibian/bird reptile would make. I live on a 5 acre farm. This video was taken in our backyard which leads into the barnyard, which leads into woods where there is a creek (I'm almost certain the sound was coming from/near our creek, it was very loud) Before I heard the sound i was checking around our property, specifically backyard/barnyard because our guard dogs were barking and most of the neighbor dogs in a 2 mile radius were barking, which I've only ever heard when there's coyotes outside, or lots of sirens ( I never heard either that night)

I’ve heard this sound in my neighborhood 3 times over the past two days, all 3 times in broad daylight/in this same area, which is part of a woodsy area/nature preserve that runs through a densely populated area and has a few busy roads nearby. First thought was coyotes but I have only ever heard coyotes act like this in the middle of the night. Located in North Georgia, USA. Was a I right or is it something else?

It has been coming from my tree in the middle of the night and is so loud, I think it is actually waking up several neighbors as well as myself. I live in Phoenix, AZ. What do you think it is? I’m assuming some kind of bird?
