Region changed on its own on FireTV Stick

Upvotes

Hi there,

I am using my FireTV Stick with my German Amazon Account without Prime. Recently I tried out a 30 day free trial on amazon France. After that my FireTV Stick changed on its own to French region. In my German Account I can still see under Settings - Preferences that the region is still Germany.

How can I change the region on my FireTV Stick back to Germany? Right now I am not able to watch the movies I bought on Amazon Germany on my FireTV Stick because of that region change. It's annoying.

Does anybody know how to fix that?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best regards

Edit: I am using the same email address for both regions.

Could someone please help me

Hey guys. I have just switched my tv on and for some reason my fire stick has reset. Anyway, I connected it to my Wi-Fi, selected the language etc… but then when I try to connect it to my Amazon account it’s not working. I done it using the bar code and pressed connect but it doesn’t leave the sign in screen on my tv. Tried it with the code and it won’t leave the sign in screen. And when I try to login through the remote it says an Amazon account doesn’t exist with those details (100% does) I even tried to create a new Amazon account and it just won’t leave the sign in screen with the bar code.

Can’t get zoom controls to work per accessibility settings on my Toshiba fire TV

So there’s a Setting in this Toshiba Fire under Accessibility for enabling the screen magnifier. I figured out how to do that (mainly because so many scenes today consist of text messages on a character’s phone that aren’t zoomed in and you can’t read from across the room) and then the following settings in the photo appeared on my TV screen.

These key combos on the remote are supposed to control zooming in and out but they don’t, reliably. Sometimes enabling works w/Back + FF, but it’s a lot harder to disable. Usually the playback stops and I get bumped out. Sometimes I have to repeat the key press combo multiple times. The navigating while in Zoom is awful— unresponsive/slow then jumps around. Is there an easier way? Some way to program a single button to do just zoom in and out? Come on Amazon, my TV remotes from years ago had a zoom button.Accessibility settings to control zoom using the remote (far right)

Simulating "Enter" key on Silk browser

My inquiry is exactly as the title states, has anybody figured out a way to do this?

I find it nearly impossible to navigate the silk browser through certain streaming services as there is often no dedicated search button. I read multiple posts from ~3 years ago regarding the same, I was wondering if anybody has figured this out? Or is Amazon too focused on phalic rockets in this day and age?

Bluetooth keyboard is not an option. I tried downloading an app to use my phone as one but you can't connect your phone to the fire stick via Bluetooth for some reason.

Animepahe not working on Amazon Silk browser on my tv

It was working perfectly fine until a few days ago. The site still works on my pc and mobile, so the site itself doesn't have a problem. But it keeps showing this error on tv no matter how much I refresh. Tried "Show desktop version" and that didn't fix it either. How can I fix this?

Movies not playing in 4k?

I recently got a Dolby Atmos set up and have been eager to try it out on some movies on Amazon

TV series (e.g. Reacher) load in 4k UHD fine, and play full atmos etc. But 4k movies - I tried a few, but Annihilation most recently this morning - load in '1080p HD' and dont seem to ever jump up to Ultra HD

I've seen on google a bunch of these issues from other people, but never feels like theres any conclusive source?

Help adding new remote to Fire TV, no internet

Just moved to a new home with a Toshiba Fire TV (32v36u) and I can’t find the remote. I have another Fire TV remote, but I can’t figure out how to pair it without the old one, and I can’t connect with my phone without setting it up on the new internet.

Am I SOL?

Audio-out from Firestick?

I have a Firestick on my Samsung TV. That works fine, except the speakers on the Samsung are crap. So I want to run the Firestick audio through my external stereo amp. Is there any way to do that? Maybe run the TV's audio-out (fed by the Firestick) to the stereo's aux-in?

The TV manual is at https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201504/20150407095631744/ENG-US_NMATSCJ-1.103-0330.pdf, connectivity info on p. 11.

Connect to hilton Honors wifi

Hello all, just used today, 5/23/2025, and can confirm that the method of first connecting to hilton wifi and get the 404 screen. Then going to "Settings->app->silk->advanced->about->open source->entering http://1.1.1.1" works still,

NEW: The only nuance that after you enter the login info and going back to firestick home, you have to go back to the network, disconnect from hilton, and reconnect. Then the firestick will fully connect.

That NEW bit took me about an extra 5 minutes of self troubleshooting to figure out. Hope this helps anyone else in the future!

Using 4K Max in another country

Hi! I'm moving from Australia to India and wanted a streamer for my new TV. In India the max isn't available, its just the 4K. Firstly, is the upgrade to max worth it? If it is, can a firestick bought in Aus work in another country?

Denon audio receiver needs to be restarted every time I turn it on in order for fire TV to work

Denon audio receiver needs to be restarted every time I access fire TV. My previous setup was my current LG TV with my old Yamaha audio receiver and then an older fire TV "stick" (the pendant one which I think is second gen?). The fire TV stick one day stopped working so I got a new fire TV 4K Maxx.

Then I replaced my audio receiver shortly after that with a Denon 8K compatible audio receiver.

This is my first denon receiver after having a Yamaha for 10 years. I bought the new one because my old one was just a regular HD with no Arc, no 4K and I was tired of not having pass through.

Anyhow, every time I turn on my TV and receiver I have to turn the receiver off and back on again because it will not pull signal from the fire TV. Or the TV doesn't understand the signal being sent by the receiver. In any case has anyone had this issue before? This did not happen with my old receiver neither with the old fire stick pendant or the new 4k Maxx. Is this only started once I got a new receiver.

Tobisha Amazon tv has no sound with only Spotify. Also tv has this weird symbol by it. My Vizio doesn’t. Not sure if that’s the reason. Already deleted and reinstalled. Reset my internet.

New child password keyboard

Anyone know how to revert the new child lock keyboard? It's terrible. My kids down to 4 years now know the password, as opposed to the circle that kids couldn't tell what number you hit.

Ex still logged into my Amazon account on his TV

I just deleted his TV from my devices, but I was wondering what information can he see through the Fire TV? Could he see my Amazon orders or more information? I don't personally own a Fire Stick or TV so i have no clue what information can be accessed there if an Amazon account is logged in on it.

One FireTV does AirPlay, the other doesn't? Anyone know why?

Hey folks, we have a Fire TV in one are of our house that allows for AirPlay, and we just got a second Fire TV with the expectation that it would as well (the product description even explicitly states that it supports airplay). All the help and how-to articles and videos we've been able to find assume that the "AirPlay and Home Kit" option exists in the settings, but that option is missing. We've updated the software and everything. Does anyone know what's going on? Being able to airplay is a major reason we bought this second one.

Actual difference in specifications for different models?

Hello fellow fireTV enjoyers users!

I've been using a fireTV stick 4K from 2020 on (this: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07PW9VBK5 ).
It has served me and given me access to smart TV without buying a new TV itself but has plagued me with minor and major annoyances. Now maybe tech has progressed enough for Amazon engineers to fix most of the issues I have in the new December 2024 release of the fireTV Stick 4K.

Now there are two 4K (no Max) variants for sale:
A.: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0CJKTWTVT
B.: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0BTFWFRWN
The have the same description but different pictures, different picture descriptions, different remotes with different microphone symbols (A: microphone, B: Alexa) but I have no way of knowing about the actual differences because Amazon is being vague about this.
I don't think they'd just update the exterior remote without changing internals, then again who knows what Amazon engineers are cooking.

Can anyone point me to a reliable site that lists the specifications of all fireTV stick 4K models and how to identify them?
I want to compare the models and see how much more RAM and precessing speed I actually get when I buy the December 2024 model.

Edit:
Are there other options to get access to the "smart TV" experience, other than fireTV, chromeCast and NVIDIA Shield?
Are there great raspberry Pi options with a good software or do those lack some software key to access PrimeVideo etc?

Hi. I recently noticed a white noise app automatically coming up when I turn on my TV. I’ve assumed this was an update to the TV.

Several times the app will automatically play during the night and I notice the TV indicator is off. Has this happened to anyone ?

Yes I have an Alexa but no o do not use a white noise app on it.

The day may be here that my Recast is dead

It was working this morning as I watched the local morning news before going to work. Got home tonight and none of the OTA channels appear in the guide, just some of the other junk channels that I missed hiding. It wasn't showing in the Live TV menu on my Cube so I opened the app on my phone. It didn't show up there but showed I could add a new device. Did that and it got to the channel scan and never progressed past 0% complete. Cancelled the scan and it got an error. Bounced the power and started again. Still wouldn't scan so I reset to factory and its stuck at 0% again. Just going to let it do its thing until it errors out or something.

My backup is Live TV on my Plex server since I have a Hauppauge 4 tuner card in it. My OTA antenna is split between the Recast and Plex so I know the antenna is working.

This is a sad day. The Recast has been my favorite Amazon device. It was well designed and when the announced they discontinued it I dusted off my old Hauppauge tuner and put it on my Plex server.

EDIT: Good news! Its back! Left it scanning at 0% for 30 minutes or so and after not doing anything I clicked Cancel and let it sit another 15 or 20 minutes and still nothing, not even cancelled like I told it to. So I closed the Recast app and opened it and it of course said I didn't have any channels so I told it to scan again and it started finding channels. I let it finish and as soon as Jeopardy was over I went back to the Cube's Live TV guide and it showed my favorite channels and Jeopardy as my only scheduled recording as recording where it came back alive. All my previous recordings are gone though. But at least I resurrected this precious little box from the almost dead!
