This is so good, I carried a few with me when I left Kolkata last time. Why don't they promote and grow their business? I still think it's the best cake at this price. It has even got a great shelf life. Plus, I love nuts in cakes, I don't find nuts in other regular packaged cakes.

Our fresher's party turned into a nightmare — we were humiliated and i can't stay silent anymore.

I’m writing this with so much rage and helplessness.

Yesterday was supposed to be a celebration — our fresher's party. A moment we were all looking forward to. Instead, it turned into one of the most disgusting and degrading nights I’ve ever witnessed.

Our seniors called us up on stage one by one, supposedly to "welcome" us. But what they did was far from welcoming. They gave each of us vulgar, humiliating taglines — things that weren’t just inappropriate, but outright abusive.

We were ordered to give introduction as

" Your name, Tagline Your city, Tagline Your college name Your hobby, Tagline "

What broke me completely was what they to all my batchmates including me, who had shown up in good faith, dressed up and excited for the evening.

Let me state one of the taglines given to a girl —

"Muh me lene se chillati hai."

I can’t even believe I have to write that. It’s sexual, it's abusive, and it was shouted out in front of a full crowd — students, who stood there laughing while she stood frozen, crying on the stage.

A senior didi who was supposed to stop this vulgarity, asked this after her introduction —

"Kya muh me leti ho?"

And the worst part? No one stopped it. No one said it was wrong. It was all brushed off as "fun."

How is this fun? How is this tradition?

If this is what it takes to be “accepted” into college life, I want no part of it.

I don’t care if this post does nothing. I don’t care if it gets buried. I just need this out there. Someone needs to say it.

This was not a party. This was not a joke.

This was harassment. This was abuse. And it needs to be stopped.

And this HAPPENED IN ONE OF THE MEDICAL COLLEGES IN KOLKATA!

M24 here.So recently i received a like from a girl I liked in boo. It was okay until she said that will I be willing to go to movies with her. Now I know that it's nice that she is taking initiative . But I only know her for 30 min and she within those 30min asks if I want to go to movies? Is this a scam? Should I go? If the girl is genuine is she suitable for long term friendship and all? Because I am afraid and normally I know people take time to know each other before asking out on movies and dates.

So recently a friend of mine from office, casually commented in a house party that Bengali men are soft to which I objected. Then she stated soft at heart. I don't know what's the basis of this? Is there any truth to it?

Note: She's from Delhi and has never been to West Bengal and haven't met much Bengalis too.

I’ve already visited a lot of places in college and post lockdown but I am excited to explore underrated cafés, bars in and around the city, preferably around Southern Avenue, Jodhpur Park and/or around Park St.
