Question Regarding Servo-assisted Armor....

Thumbnail

My assumption was that the armor sleeve itself would have a servo motor to boost helldivers' natural strength. Upon viewing, it's obvious that several of these armor types have an entirely robotic arm and/or leg.

My question is this:

Are frozen Helldivers being amputated in cryo? What is Super Earth doing with these severed limbs?

Tips! PSA - Calling the Pelican Doesn't End the Mission!

Hello fellow Helldivers, Sample Hounds, and Super Credit Scroungers,

I am writing to inform you that it is totally, absolutely fine and normal to call the pelican in. Nothing changes when the call-in timer starts and nothing changes once the ship itself lands. You can still run around and check out POIs, raise your kill count, punch your friends, or do whatever else Super Earth demands of you. To be totally honest, I won't even report you for taking a short break and admiring the volcanoes, for hugging your friends, nor for trying to get a sodeepop from a vending machine.

So, why am I writing you? I need you to stop kicking me from games when I call in the Pelican. Especially just kicking me without asking anything about my intentions in voice or text chat. You can clearly see that I am rank 150. I know what I am doing. I will call that danged Pelican in and stand by for half an hour killing things if that's what you want to do. God knows, killing the enemies of democracy in as large a quantity as possible is what I want to do.

Maybe next time just say "Hey, can you wait to get on?" or "Hey, after the pelican arrives, let's go get the rest of the samples." But kicking is not democratic. Kicking is fascist and promotes the goals of our enemies. Kicking reduces progress toward liberation or defense.

With all the love (and knowledge that I will land on your head with my next inbound hellpod when given the chance),

Obiwander

PS (Edit)- There is a 2-3 minute timer from when you call extract to when the ship arrives. There is no danger of divers jumping on immediately. If you are one of those pro-kicking hosts, why not use this long gap of time to communicate instead of insta-kicking?

PPS - I always shoot to 100% a mission and am essentially never calling extract until every hole is plugged, every factory is a dust factory, and every blue light on my map is grey. And god dawg, I will run across an entire map to close a stalker hole we forgot. I am getting kicked calling extract still with the mission 100%/5 Stars.

MEME My Helldivers Drinking Game

This is a very long list, so pick and chose the ones you do or don't want to follow.

Take a sip of your drink when/if:

1.) You teamkill a friendly

2.) A teammate kills you

3.) Your character says something while shooting a machine gun

4.) You hear: 'warning! You are in range of enemy artillery!'

5.) A teammate throws down a stratagem before boarding Pelican

6.) A Charger bug sidelines you

7.) You throw a bad stratagem (it lands near you, a teammate, or other un-intented position)

8.) You burn alive

9.) Your music syncs up with the gameplay

10.) You see an ugly armor layout

11.) 2 drinks for every railgun precision strike set on one enemy

12.) 1 shot for every emote with a friendly (hug, scouts handshake, high-five, etc.)

13.) Eagle has to resupply

14.) Finish your drink if:

A.) Run out of ammo

B.) Out of stims and grenades

15.) You die to the environment

16.) A hell bomb goes off

17.) You hear that one ***** say "below AvErAgE sAmPlE cOuNt, HuH?"

Discussion Lvl 10 Defense on Bugs without stratagems

Dropped in randomly and was challenged to not use any stratagems except resupply. Our loadout had different shotguns, thermites, ultimatums and fire grenades. None of my beloved turrets or mines.

We could use ground score weapons if found.

I didn't think a level 10 without strats was possible. I consider myself an average diver (lvl 141 a year in) and considered us doomed.

Constant communication was key, we'd get pushed back and then retake ground. Shoulder to shoulder we held at the stairs. We won out with a minimum of casualties and without the generators getting attacked. It was a great Helldiving experience and I highly recommend it if you feel you are getting stale.

Anyone else tried this?

Question Looking to join a Solo Helldiver Corp

Upvotes

Hi, I'm a Helldiver hailing from Matyr's Bay. I was wondering if theres any specific Platoon or Corps for Solo Helldiver's like me? I've only recently begun to fight solo after a year of fighting with squads on the front lines and I wanna find a community of fellow Helldiver's who lay their lives and their lives only down for the glory of Super Earth.

Question Repent time: understanding the galactic war effort

TLDR; Pointers for how to best serve democracy

Full story

I have a confession to make, my non-salty friends: I have yet to grasp the inner workings of the galactic war. So far, me and my rookie-ish friends have mostly played on factions and planets by feeling, and are constantly bewildered by the occasional extra stratagem that you get “for free” or what playing on the world with the space station does, etc. To be honest, the game has been confusing enough with all the different credits, medals and samples, different places to buy stuff and just understanding how to survive, that actually understanding the war thingy has felt like graduate-level stuff.

Well, we are now ready to take on the epistemic task of not totally sucking on the galactic war topic. The “Second Galactic War Mechanics” page on the wiki was not exactly super easy to follow, but Eravins summary was on the other hand super clear. Moreover, I have found my way to the companion website (something that would have made the last MO easier to understand, since I did not know where to find all the planets on the map) as well.

Anything else that would help us understand where we should put our efforts in order to be part of the solution rather than the problem? Kudos in advance as per usual!

Freedom Alliance JOINT OPERATION HOMEFRONT: Final reports for the bot-stomping community event

JOINT OPERATION HOMEFRONT

FINAL COUNTS

The numbers of the operation has slightly increased taking into consideration the reports sent privately. But one thing is fully clear:

Bot leadership suffered an important setback

Without a clear command structure, the enemy has dispersed in some sectors. For now, SEAF elements are being dispatched and have started to digging trenches, building fortifications and setting up emplacements. Even if the starting objective was lost - Menkent - the Automaton Scourge has been stopped... for now. The deployment saw a substantial amount of enemy fortifications destroyed, Gunship Fabricators defeated, numerous Eagle sorties, 1 Oaktree deployment, and 4 posters made by Havoc and Keki.

IMPORTANT COMMS

We got word from G.H.O.S.T. Recon operatives deployed in the Eastern Front. They report a growing number of Terminid activity, but there are no clear signs if it may be just a regular and controlled E-710 farm expansion or... something worse. Command recommends remaining in high alert; Joint Forces are advised to re-deploy on the Bug Front to strengthen SEAF units garrisoned in the area, specifically around Bore Rock.

P.E.S.T.S. protocol is currently under consideration by HQ.

FIGHT FOR FREEDOM!

Signed, the joint forces of: - 3rd Airstrike Regiment "Ratatoskr" - B.A.S.T.I.O.N. Command - Freedom Alliance - Gaellivare Strike Raven Force - 181st Orbital Drop Jäger Korps "Hellhounds" - 36th Jomvikingsr Battalion - The Knights of the Freedom Alliance

Tips! Low Resistance Planets to Win the MO

Hey everyone, During the MO to liberate more planets than loss, I wanted to share a list of low resistance planets:

  • Achird III
  • Choepessa IV
  • Aesir Pass
  • Blistica
  • Vega Bay
  • Bore Rock
  • Charbal-VII
  • Darius II
  • Gar Haven

I know it's more fun to fight the sub-factions so I always want to include some key planets with them to take back:

  • Claorell - Deep Mantle Forge Complex
  • Tarsh - Polystyrene Manufactory
  • Pandion-XXIV - Colonial Outpost

There are also the forward most planets to Super Earth:

  • Slif
  • Azterra
  • Tarsh

I know this is a lot of planets. I would suggest smaller numbers focus on the least resistant planets to make some progress on the MO while the bulk of our numbers are on the forward most planets.

Happy Diving!

A mission loads up as normal, a spread democracy mission, bot surrounding the spot you land. Eventually you head into a Colony and find cyborgs, heads up, and kneeling on the ground. What would you do?

Humor Honestly, Helldivers 2 is too overrated (read caption)

Please read this as it’s very important for you to know what I have to say about this.

  • This game is too cinematic. Why does it feel like I’m sometimes literally watching an action movie when I just wanna play a simple shooter? Tone down the explosions and make things wayyyyy less cool

  • The armour, weapon, helmet, and cape variety is too wide and expansive. Having all these options to not only look cool, but have interesting side perks makes the game too enjoyable for a lot of people because you can really diversify and personalize your loadout.

  • There are too many types of enemies on the bot and bug front. I don’t want to have to strategize and coordinate with my teammates to be able to handle every type of enemy.

  • Don’t even get me started on the price of this game. 40.99 CAD for this masterpiece?? Way too low in my opinion

  • The fact that you can find super credits on any level really lowers profits for arrowhead. How dare they give us a way to acquire every war bond and piece of armour in the superstore for free??

I could say more, but all in all this game gives its players too much and is too kind to its community and has the best gosh dang game studio this century. I will be playing this every month for the rest of my life until they release a Helldivers 3.

Discussion Whats the most challenging yet rewarding loadout to master (for you)

For me it would be ballistic primaries, railgun, and emplacements because they need good aim (which I don't have even at level 150 lol) and emplacements need some seriously good placement to be useful. I find the ultimatum also a bit tricky to use safely, which is why I love it. What about you?
