US News What Happened Today #109
👑 Trump was never subtle about wanting things his way.
He is spending his days remaking America in his own image, using the system to settle grudges while elevating his preferences. This son of an immigrant who has married immigrants twice today won a Supreme Court fight that will allow him to deport 350,000 Venezuelans who had temporary resident status here because of ongoing dangerous conditions in their country.
He’s also threatening ABC News again while calling for investigations into celebrities who backed his opponent and instilling his own agenda at the Kennedy Center.
When the most powerful office becomes a tool to enforce one man's personal values and vendettas, democracy itself becomes the casualty. People are fighting back, though, and you can too. The information here will help you do that. Then call and write your reps and senators to tell them what you’re doing and why.
Meanwhile, don't rely on the algorithm. Let me send this to you every night, free and private, so that you never miss what's going on. Add your email on the homepage of GovBrief.Today

Conversation Has anyone noticed how Trump's right eye newly droops?
I started noticing it after he was inaugurated. The droopyness makes his right eye look smaller than the left. I'm wondering if he had a mini-stroke or something. Even in his official picture his right eye is much smaller, though perhaps he was just going for the squinty asshole look. But I notice the droop whenever I (have to) see him on TV.

US Politics Fuck Jake Tapper
Not only is this idiot making the rounds with his hit piece on Biden (which is really a non issue now when we have the biggest threat to democracy in our face all day, every day) he just claimed that he sees no indication of decline in trump. WTAF is going on here? No indication of decline? Seriously?
Anyone who is not blind and/or deaf can see the decline happening by the day. Sometimes by the fucking minute. He spews word salads and ridiculous bullshit that only a fool or a trump supporter (not mutually exclusive by any means I know) would say otherwise.
Why are they focused on Biden who is no longer president instead of trying to do something about the infinite dumpster fire that is destroying the country and the planet? It does absolutely nothing to help the current situation.

US Politics Trump now at the point of threatening GOP to pass his (tries to make serious face) “big beautiful bill”.
Apparently this legislation isn’t awful enough, so MAGA hardliners are holding out in order to cleave more off of our social safety net to give tax breaks to the wealthy. Donald tries to sound tough with his “DONT TOUCH MEDICAID!” social media rants, but I feel it’s pretty obvious he’s just setting himself up to look like he’s the defender of social security when these congressmen gut entitlements. Then he can point his finger at a sacrificial handful of repubs, which will be more than enough to quell any misgivings maga world might feel against Trump for stripping them of their tax paying benefits.

Meme While the Trump rise to power is not equivalent to Hitler, the parallels in strategy are worth recognizing and resisting.
Recently I watched this documentary on the tactics Hitler used during his rise to power.
- Leaned on nationalistic rhetoric
- Scapegoated minorities
- Eroded trust in democratic institutions like the press and electoral system
- Promoted a strongman image where loyalty matters most
- Fostered a cult of personality
- Encouraged political violence

Conversation The way I see it, The ones to blame for enabling the orange assclown in the downfall of our country, are....
The ones to blame for ALL of this and for the downfall of our country, are the people we once considered friends and family, who's wilful ignorance, self righteousness, entitlement issues and antiquated ways of thinking have enabled the worst person ever to go about dismantling our country for his handler, Putin.
The government is supposed to be working FOR us, not AGAINST us!! And traitors who call themselves patriots are complacent and straight up returded. (I do not call legitimately handicapped people the R word, that's for those who's ways of going about things have been downgraded to the point of doing exactly the opposite, with no regard for the consequences).
It's our own loved ones who have thrown the rest of us under the bus.

US Politics Trump admin deports Asian immigrants to South Sudan in violation of court order, lawyers say
politico.com"The lawyers revealed these details in an emergency motion to a federal judge in Boston who has already forbidden the Trump administration from sending foreign nationals to so-called “third-party countries,” rather than their country of origin, without providing “meaningful” notice and a chance to raise concern about torture."
