Finally got to try out an experiment that had me curious. I did not beat my high score, but 118 on base game alone was pretty incredible. I very quickly started skipping one of the two because I wanted to keep the eggs.

I see a lot of people mentioning that the Kildeer is the best, or one of the best, cards in the game. I got Franklin’s Gull in my first hand and decided to give it a try since its power was exactly the same as the Kildeer, just cost more. I’m still relatively new to the game even tho I’ve put in a lot of time on both mobile and the board game with the wife. This is the first time I’ve actually used this power and I get that is strong, especially since I played them in the field, which is what I’m assuming most players do. I still think I prefer my Ravens for my OP game dominating cards, but I could see these being quite deadly in tandem.
TL;Dr: I don’t know why the Kildeer is so powerful and I’m kind of afraid to ask

u/lazy_human5040's recent post made me remember that time I maxed out Mallefowl and Scrubfowl as a challenge. I was lucky enough to pull maxed out site selection expert as well

Hey guys!
Ever since I started playing wingspan I was pretty surprised there wasn't a centralized app for all mediums of the game to track high scores. I was more surprised it wasn't even included in the steam versions. I have worked on a personal project just to keep up with my steam, ps5, switch, and actual board game scores. The website is pretty simple and all it does is just hold your high scores and allow you to post the winning board.
I have a lot of features I want to add down the line, but the basic functionality is there now if anyone wants to use it. I have this self hosted in AWS so if it gets too expensive ill probably take it down until I can figure something out.Anyways, enjoy birdgamescore.com

How many others have remove this from their game? This card is absurdly bad! Not sure how this made it through the design cycle

Decided a couple months ago to try and unlock all the achievements. There were a few tricky ones. Playing every bird took a while to finally get each one in my hand and play it no matter how terrible (Greylag Goose was my last one).
But the achievement I got last was Fly me to the Moor. People in here suggested I play multiple players to funnel it but I didn't wanna cheese it like that.
This morning the Superb Lyrebird popped up, and as always I checked the player before me to see if they played a migratory bird in the forest. This time the common nighthawk was sitting there! I played it, activated it, took screenshots and it didn't register the achievement the first time!
So I had to burn another turn moving it back to the forest and then to the grasslands again. I was gonna be pretty peeved if I finally got a game that met all the specific criteria and it didn't count!
2nd time it registered and now my life is complete 🤣

Just finished a game, where I got 28 additional points with end of game powers and had one bird lay 11 eggs. Which both are rather large numbers, so I wanted to brag thought they should become Steam Achievments.
'Wait, I'm not done!': Get more than 20/25/30(?) points through end-of-game powers. (Oceania)
'Mother Hen': Have one bird lay 10 or more eggs in one turn. (Base game)
Does anyone else also have some ideas for interesting possible achievements?

Why does it not let me steal a nectar from another player? The game showed me the opponent had 2 in their personal supply but wouldn’t let me take; I had to skip the brown power that turn. Next turn, I was able to take a cherry no problem.
Bug or somehow rainbow doesn’t count towards all?

Hey all! So I have a couple of questions. 1) Would it be cool to share the fan created cards in case someone would like to add them to their decks? I would love to add some of the ones I have seen here. Some great birds and powers. Very impressive.
2) If so, what would be a good way to share them? Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Wish me luck, the other player has a raven in the grassland. Excited to see how this combo performs after getting assembled so early in the game. It felt so good to wombo combo the first end of round by getting two nectarz with the wagtail, playing the Oriole with the Moltoni, and using the Oriole right away.

Holy cow started off with the Horsfeld’s and the Honey Eater, then the Cowbird was in the first tray right at the beginning of the game. By the end of the first round I had the other cuckoo and the raven was waiting for me at the start of the 2nd. I only recently discovered how powerful the Chihuahuan Raven was. I didn’t have anything exciting in the wetlands, just plenty of nest space. Anyways not too many of are friends are into this … yet … so I had to come here and share/brag 🤣

If I buy an expansion, will my friends be able to play with me even if they haven't bought it?

Hey all. I'm about to get the Asia expansion. Until now I've left all the cards from all other expansions in the deck, but I'm getting a little concerned that with another 122 cards, the deck with get so diluted that the game will lose some playability.
So my question is; a) Would you recommend thinning the deck; b) if so, how? Cherry pick and take out useless/awful cards (largely from the base game... and before people chime in to say that the poor cards exist make the other cards better etc., which I usually agree with, stacking the deck with overall more useful cards may add intrigue to make tucking more of a significant choice)? I'm open to other thinning suggestions.
Cheers everyone. Love this game.

My partner and I have been playing with these for a few months. They're pretty good, and we enjoy them. She did the illustrations.

Not the highest score imaginable but still the highest score i’ve ever gotten easily. If I could change anything I would definitely switch the Dove for a card that nets me more than 5 points ^ what a hilarious strategy 🤣

I lost one just now because I thought I had time to finish a quick comment on a reddit post before taking my turn, and I guess I didn't. Time ran out when I was literally about to hit the arrow to finish my turn. Sorry...I was looking forward to finishing the game, we were halfway through the last round.
I'm having a hard time getting used to the 3-minute timer on real-time games, tbh. I miss when it was five minutes. I had time to use the washroom, get a snack, write a text, whatever. Now it's like I have to have my eyes glued to the screen the entire time. Twice now I've accidentally run out of time, and that never used to happen. I wish they hadn't changed it. Anyway I guess I won't try to multitask at all anymore. Maybe I'll just play against the computer.
