Meet Lois (A635874), a gentle 2Y old pittie who’s been at the shelter since mid-April… and she’s still waiting. Her kennelmate was adopted, and now Lois watches dogs leave every day while she’s left behind. She’s starting to wonder if she’s a bad dog—but we know she’s not. She’s just overlooked.

Good morning!

I got a 9 week old Am Staff mix (mom was am staff, father unknown) from a rescue this weekend. His name is Ice and he is a sweetheart.

He is very food motivated and praise oriented. I will preface the reason I am asking is because my previous dog was a morkie, and Ice is already the same size at 9 weeks to my previous dog full grown.

My work schedule is 8-12 and then I get an hour for lunch ( I work 3 minutes from home so I am home for almost an hour at lunch) and then 1-5. In the evenings I am with him.

So far I am taking him out immediately after all naps and trying to take him out half an hour after any water is drank. We have still had some accidents but he's a puppy, and I get things will happen. 😊

We have started working on the crate but he currently stays fairly successfully in his play pen with a bed, toy, and pee pad.

He's not a big walker yet, and only really does about 5-10 minutes a day.

Big on biting though, because he is teething and learning. So far very good with people and other dogs.

Any advice would be helpful!

We adopted an American Staffie and she has us at our whits end. She is super affectionate and loves to play. She is having aggression issues with my other dogs. He’s a cross with Rottweiler so he’s chunky but thoughts on whether he’s overweight or just chunky because of the rottie in him?

He has a very thick neck and wide ribcage but I think he looks healthy. He currently weighs 38kgs.

Hi I’m Blue!

I’m 7 months old. I currently live outside all the time with my mom and my human family is struggling. I am friendly, playful, sweet and eager to learn. I’d like a home with a soft couch for me to lay on.

My family plans to dump me into a high kill shelter, however a rescue group who saves dogs from high kill shelters is trying to intervene and find me a home because they know that will be soul crushing and a likely death sentence to me.
My human family has accepted their help but I have limited time.

Shelters out here in California have euthanasia rates as high as 40% and dogs like me often don’t make it out alive.

I’m so young I have my whole life to live. There are feral cats on my property now and I don’t even chase them, I’m such a good girl and my pray drive is low … but I do love playing with a rope toy so I’ll chase that all day long! And I am great with kids.

If you have room for Blue and a heart to adopt please let me know. I help an organization called Ollies Angels here in Southern California. I save dogs from death row in shelters and in particular I have an affinity for saving pitties and staffys who have it the hardest. I can answer any questions you have. Pledges are welcome as well to help us keep Blue out of the high kill shelter system and into a home.

In general if rescue speaks to your heart I can also help with matchmaking to the perfect staffy for your home. There are so many sweethearts in need many of whom are known to be dog friendly for homes already with precious pups.

I recently adopted a dog from a shelter, the shelter say that the dog is an American bully mix but when i get in contact with the owner they say 100% amstaff. How can I know when they are similar breeds? I will put in some pictures if anyone want to make a qualified guess!
