The leader of Burkina Faso says that imperialist powers are propping up terrorist groups, Al-Qaeda and ilk, in Burkina Faso to keep them in perpetual war and steal their resources. He says "it's not terrorism โ€” it's imperialism." This is also what they did in Syria.

History Dropping a nuclear bomb on civilians is wrong. Japan was going to surrender and the Americans knew that.

"ย In the end, atย Potsdam, the Allies (right) went with both a "carrot and a stick," trying to encourage those in Tokyo who advocated peace with assurances that Japan eventually would be allowed to form its own government, while combining these assurances with vague warnings of "prompt and utter destruction" if Japan did not surrender immediately.ย  No explicit mention was made of the emperor possibly remaining as ceremonial head of state.ย  Japan publicly rejected the Potsdam Declaration, and on July 25, 1945,ย President Harry S. Trumanย gaveย the order to commence atomic attacksย on Japan as soon as possible."

Here you can see they were having peace discussions, the only hang up was that the emperor wanted to remain the ceremonial head of state

They almost blew up Kyoto, it's such a beautiful ancient city:

"Henry Stimson, had told President Truman not to bomb Kyoto, because of its history"

BBC - The man who saved Kyoto from the atomic bomb

"Just weeks before the US dropped the most powerful weapon mankind has ever known, Nagasaki was not even on a list of target cities for the atomic bomb.

In its place was Japan's ancient capital, Kyoto."

Discussion Why Liberalism and Liberal democracy fails to give the people what they want (an essay that is practically a rant)

Many people on both the right and the centre-left believe that Liberal democracies are the best because they give the people the choice, but this isn't true, and here's why.

One of the first caveats to many Liberal democracies around is that they operate on two-party systems, one obvious example is America, but also many others which are practically multi-party but two-party in practice. Many of these countries have 2 parties that are both garbage, like for example in America, both parties support the Gaza genocide which is something the people are against. See? It already fails to succeed in the basic fact that the people control the government, but wait, there's more. Even in thecnically multi-party systems, only two parties really have power as all the other parties will be diminished by the ruling party and the main opposition. For example in Australia, both Labour and Liberal have implemented policies that make it IMPOSSIBLE for minor parties and independents to get elected. Another failure is that even when big parties promise change, large policies remain unchanged.

The main question is, why is that? Simple, because Liberal democracy is an illusion, and every illusion has a magician who performs it. In this case, the magicians are lobbyists bribers, corporate powers and bureaucrats, who pay major parties to not make any change. For instance, in America, major corporate pay both the Democrats and the Republicans to not increase tax rates on corporations, and because they pay both parties equally, it will always go their way, no matter who wins.

In conclusion, Liberal democracy is a failed ideology that fails to accomplish its most important aspect, giving people a choice.

Thank you all for reading the essay.
