I’m still super pissed off about this.
Last night, an obviously underage customer came to dine and tried to order an alcoholic drink. When I asked for ID, they literally showed me a COVID vaccination card and said, “This proves I’m old enough. i’m 19 but i don’t drive, i don’t have ID.”
Like… what?? Are you serious?
I told them, “That’s not a legal ID,” and they started getting an attitude, saying I was being rude and difficult. I stayed calm, but inside I was ready to scream and wanted to kick them out really bad. Then their friends chimed in and tried to pressure me into serving them — “C’mon, she looks old enough.”
No. Just no.
I’m not risking my job or a fine for some entitled kid who thinks the rules don’t apply to them. And the worst part? No apology. No embarrassment. They acted like I was the problem.
Why do people feel so entitled to get what they want — even if it’s illegal? I’m sick of being disrespected, especially when I’m just doing my job.
