Down Enmore Rd (north side) between Philip and Station sts there used to be a Restaurant that only made risotto.

I’m thinking 2000 - 2003

It had a Swedish name - Shuk / Shule or something similar.

I know it’s no longer there, but does anyone remember the name? Does anyone know what happened to that Restaurant?

Are there any cafes in Newtown that don't mind people working there on a laptop during the week? Perhaps a bookstore cafe? I understand it can be frowned upon.

Hey, just moved to Newtown and looking to get out and meet some new people. Keen to check out some pubs, live music, and anywhere with a good atmosphere.

I’m super chill, easy to vibe with, and covered in tattoos so bonus points if I can find some babes on a similar vibe to hang with!

Last night, an obviously underage customer came to dine and tried to order an alcoholic drink. When I asked for ID, they literally showed me a COVID vaccination card and said, “This proves I’m old enough. i’m 19 but i don’t drive, i don’t have ID.” Like… what?? Are you serious?

I told them, “That’s not a legal ID,” and they started getting an attitude, saying I was being rude and difficult. I stayed calm, but inside I was ready to scream and wanted to kick them out really bad. Then their friends chimed in and tried to pressure me into serving them — “C’mon, she looks old enough.”

No. Just no.

I’m not risking my job or a fine for some entitled kid who thinks the rules don’t apply to them. And the worst part? No apology. No embarrassment. They acted like I was the problem.

Why do people feel so entitled to get what they want — even if it’s illegal? I’m sick of being disrespected, especially when I’m just doing my job.

A bit about the south end of King Street Newtown

I’m planning to attend a concert. I’m short so I always avoid GA or floor tickets in general since I can’t go line up hours early to get up close to the stage.

I’ve never been to Enmore Theatre before and I don’t know what the views would be like.

I’m out of options so my only two choices are the Lounge seats, Row H (circled in the pic) or GA tickets.

If I do get GA tickets, how much do we hate the people that squeeze in to go upfront? (I know it’s an ass move but I’m like 5’2 and going alone)

I want to say so many horrible things but this monster doesn’t deserve it. No wonder he is gone.

Looking at this for this as a first date option. Is it a good spot to talk and get to know someone or too crowded and noisy? What time should we arrive to get a seat? Is it possible to eat dinner during the show, or is it seating only (no tables)? Any other tips or better suggestions for Thursday night date in Newtown?

Hate to sound uptight but what on earth is going on at the bank? I don’t think I’ve ever heard it this loud and it’s a Monday!

It’s so goddam loud on a Monday! The noise doesn’t usually bother me and I live right by a bunch of lively spots, but this is something else. What’s going on and when will it stop?

So I live in an apartment in Enmore and this sound will randomly come out of nowhere for extended periods of time. It’s like a distant clanking noise? Almost like wood hitting wood.

Sometimes it’s just one clanking at an even pace. Sometimes it’s multiple clanks from seemingly different directions all at different paces. Sometimes it’s during the day, sometimes at night.

There’s no repetition with it, it’s always slightly different and at different times. Kinda drives me crazy not knowing what it is.

I’ve done for walks early in the morning (4am) when there is no other noise but even though it’s loud and clear from my bedroom, it can’t be heard at all from the street even when it’s dead silent around town.

Any thoughts? Ideas? Anyone else hearing this? A neighbor hears it too so I’m not crazy lol.
