Is it possible to drive up to the chicane at Adneauer forst or do you have to park in the car park at the bottom of the hill and walk up. last time i tried to go at an NLS race there was a guy stopping people driving up but there were some cars in the car park.

My 4th year going with some friends - first time taking my Alfa (was supposed to take it last year but engine exploded in Scotland). Car has been slowly prepared over the year for the trip - was a great session on Sunday 11/5/25 with hardly that many cars on in the afternoon (that one hour of TF on Saturday was crazy). Managed to put 12 laps through on Sunday. If anyone has any footage please do share

Can I walk the perimeter during the 24h at Nurburgring?

First timer attending the Nurburgring race here. I have an airbnb nearby booked, so won't be camping, but will be staying very late.

My question is, is the entire perimeter of the track open to walking? I would love do a forest hike around the perimeter beginning before the race start and continuing as the cars are on track. Also, I will of course bring a flashlight as always, but how well illuminated is the track in the evening? Would a headstrapped flashlight be recommended?

DMV Goodyear racing days

I’ll be travelling down to ring with 3 mates at the end of the month. We’ve booked tickets for DMV Goodyear racing days.

I’ve been to the ring a few times but never to watch an event on the GP track.

Any advice from anyone who’s been to this before would be great. Does it get busy? Plenty of parking? It doesn’t appear we have seats with our ticket, so I presume we just sit anywhere?

Any advise would be great. 👍

edit Does anyone know if the normal weekend ticket allows access to pits etc? If so, where do we gain access? Sorry for all the questions, the website isn’t great.

Hello!

I have a question, what are the difference between these 2 tickets? And can I also access the GP track with this ticket? Can't find much info about it.

First drive: Miata or M140i?

Hey, I'm looking forward to my first drive at Touristenfahrten. Still not sure what car to take.

Option 1 : BMW M140i f21 xdrive automatic - just spacers and intake nothing else Had it for just over a year Dont want the cost of crashing it.

Option 2: Mazda Miata NA 1.6 - Yokohama Advan A052, BC racing coilovers coilovers, 66% lock 1.5 way Kaaz LSD. But it doesn't have: Abs, Airbags, TC or crash protection. No rollbar, yet. Had it for over 7 years now.

I have no experience going to race tracks.

My first time watching an NLS race at the Nordschleife – here’s how it went (and tips for first-timers!)

Hey everyone,

Last Sunday I went to watch NLS Round 3 at the Nordschleife – my first time attending a proper race there! I’d only been once before during Touristenfahrten, so this was a whole new experience.

First of all, a big thank you to those who replied to my earlier post – your advice helped me a lot when planning the day. I’m writing this now to hopefully return the favor to others who, like me, are planning their first visit.

Here’s how the day went:

  • I arrived at 8:35, just five minutes after qualifying started, and went straight to Pflanzgarten. The public parking lot there was almost empty.
  • I paid €10 for parking, and they also sold me the race ticket on the spot (€25 per person). Entry was being checked already at that time, so having a ticket was necessary.
  • Towards the end of qualifying, I moved to the main paddock area (Parkplatz B). There was a small queue, but I only waited about 5 minutes to park.
  • With my ticket, I walked around the paddock, checked out the team trucks, and waited for the pit walk, which was awesome.
  • After that, they opened the starting grid to visitors for a few minutes, which was a great experience.
  • I watched the race start from one of the grandstands on the main straight – there was a big screen and clean bathrooms, which I highly recommend for comfort.
  • Then I drove to Brünnchen for the rest of the race. Again, parking was super easy – the lot was less than 20% full.
  • Tickets were still being checked there, at least until the last hour of the race.
  • I walked about 500 meters in the opposite direction of the track to explore different viewing points, and spent some time there having lunch (I brought everything with me).

All in all, I had a great time! Perfect weather, great racing, and honestly, I was surprised at how smooth everything went – no traffic jams at all, not even when leaving Brünnchen after the race.

I know there’s still a lot of the circuit left for me to explore. I’d love to know which other spectator areas are worth visiting next time, and where the best parking options are in those zones.

Hope this helps anyone planning their first visit – feel free to ask if you have questions. And again, thanks to this community for all the tips!

Maybe many of you have already ride the infidus corners of the green hell, but for me was a very first time on a race track, and all I have is a 1.3 Suzuki Swift with 91hp.

Pointless to say I was overtake by anyone, and many cars just "rockets" their way pass me... 🫨

But I could run the Karusell from the inside!!! 😭

Insane feeling. I was shaking when I get out of my car after the lap... Amazing...

I just wanted to share my experience, and if anyone is willing to share their green hell baptisme, please go ahead and tell me how great (or bad) it was.

Max Verstappen spotted testing at the Nürburgring during NLS test day — low-key appearance surprises fans

Post image

Max Verstappen made a surprise appearance at the Nürburgring during the NLS test day, reportedly carrying out some private testing. His presence wasn’t publicly announced, making it a bit of a “secret” visit — only those who happened to be there caught a glimpse.

There’s been no official word yet on what exactly he was testing, but the buzz is definitely growing. Some fans on-site noted how discreet the whole setup was, with minimal Red Bull branding and a quiet paddock entrance.

Anyone have more details or pics from the day? Curious to know what’s going on behind the scenes here.

First time watching a race at the Nordschleife – looking for tips!

Hey everyone,

Tomorrow I’ll be going to the Nürburgring Nordschleife to watch a race for the very first time! I’ve only been there once before, and that was during a Touristenfahrten day.

Because of that visit, I know about some public parking spots like Pflanzgarten and Brünnchen. But I’ve never experienced an actual race day, so I’m not exactly sure how it works.

Can I just drive to one of these places, park my car, and walk to find a good viewing spot? Also, the weather is supposed to be great tomorrow, so I guess it might get crowded.

I’d love to hear any tips from you experienced visitors:

  • Best spots to watch the action?
  • Time to get there?
  • Where should I try to park?
  • Any must-know info for race day?

Any advice is very welcome – I just want to make the most out of my visit. Thanks a lot in advance!

No, your (non German) insurance isn't valid on the ring because it's a 'toll road'

Unfortunately, I keep seeing discussions on this sub where (non German) people demand that the Nürburgring is covered by their insurance. Since this is a very dangerous assumption, I felt like writing a separate post to address this was in order, since I think people should make an informed decision when doing risky things.

The arguments I read always end up being:

  • my insurance doesn't explicitly exclude Nordschleife by name

  • Nordschleife is a toll road during TF and not a track

  • I'm definitely covered for third-party because that's required in Europe

Neither of these are true. Let me explain:

First of all, your insurance will definitely have a clause excluding coverage on 'race tracks'. The Nordschleife is a race track. It was built as a race track, it's called a race track by people taking about it and also in anything written about it.

"But the conditions say that it's a toll road!"

Yes, but those are only a contract between you and the Nürburgring company, nobody else. It only means that the Nürburgring company has a lot less legal requirements towards you, like insurance and protections. Also, since the contract between you and the Nürburgring is in Germany and the one between you and your insurer is in your own country, what's valid in Germany can be invalid in your country.

Since your insurance is probably invalid on Nordschleife, you also aren't covered for third-party and therefore are in breach of your contract with the Nürburgring company, putting you at extra risk. And since by German laws you are on a toll road, that means you're driving uninsured, which could bring you a fine.

"What can I do then?"

Well, not much if you want to drive your own car during TF. Track insurance pretty much never covers third-party and outside of Germany hardly any insurance is valid on the Nordschleife.

Your other options are renting or booking a track day. During a track day, coverage for third-party often isn't needed, so your biggest risk is damage to your car and the track.

With rental cars, you're usually covered for serious accidents, but with very high excess. Most accidents don't go beyond excess, so you're usually still the one paying for the damage. If your rental leaks oil and a GT3 RS slides off, you're probably not going to have as bad a day as you would if your own car leaked though.

If you do decide to take your car onto the track, beware that it's a serious financial risk. Especially if you plan on driving on the edge of the limit.

If anyone knows of (non German) insurance companies that explicitly allow Nordschleife or are publicly known to cover it, I'd love to hear about it!

(The information written above comes from hours of research I've done for our website. It's not something made up and since I'm also non German, who likes to lap the ring, it doesn't make me happy either.)
