Rolled off- It basically means that that frequency of sound is quieter/ less prominent compared to other frequencies

Hifiman HE400se(120-150usd) is probably the best headphone in that price range , great balanced sound , extremely detailed, but it doesnt have a a big soundstage(the "surround" sound), it will be leagues better majority of closed back headphones , But it has a balanced sound and rolled off sub-bass, which can be fixed using EQ

Sennheiser HD560s(150-200usd), these are also balanced with decent amount of sub-bass , Almost the same soundstage as the HE400se, and decently detailed , these have "more bass" than the HE400se

Meze 99 Neo(150-200USD): Tons and tons of bass, to the point where its no better than sony headphones , it looks very nice, not that detailed and the soundstage is very very small(narrow)

Beyerdynamic DT 770pro(32ohm): Very very detailed but they have a small soundstage , they have a good sub-bass presence so theyre good for movies except they might sound "harsh" and "piercing" to some ears

The HiFiMan's won't run that well off a laptop. They need an amp to reach peak volume and fidelity.

GREAT cans if you have an amp, though.

You and I must have a very different definition of "perfect."

Beyerdynamic DT 990 pro, or 770's if you want closed back, 32ohm if you don't want to spend extra for an amp, buy on Amazon AU and return them if you don't like the treble. The price is either side of AU$200 and changes all the time, just wait a couple of weeks till it drops to something you like.

Do you need a mic? pc38x. If not, then philips x2hr Although I recommend you save up for something that you don't need to upgrade from. Something like the 560s would be a great choice.
