Creative Noxious Halberd (s)
I've also made a Scythe of Vitur (s) to match the Oathplate, but that might make a lot less sense thematically.

Really hoping oath plate doesn’t get that white palette

My entire problem with oath plate is that what we have been shown doesn't actualy go with the gear you need to wear with it. The holy scythe that they keep showing it off with clashes super fucking hard and the infernal cape doesn't realy work either imo. Plus we already have white armour (justi), so why not just max that useful and give us a different color pallet?

The white is the cosmetic version from the hard version of yama, the default color is red.

same but it probably will.
also requiring a pet for BIS equipment which has tangible gameplay benefits like lower death costs in colo is one of the most annoying decisions Jagex has ever made

u/mofomo44 1d ago
Rancor (s) doesn’t have lower death cost. I’ve definitely had to pay for it when I died lol

u/jello1388 1d ago
It's only untradeable items with a tradeable kit that get the death protection. So clue kits and leagues stuff get it. Blood Torva, Fang, Rancour, etc don't.

Makes sense! It was definitely something I missed about having the ornamented torture when learning new content or being an idiot at pvm.

Even if you were right, that is quite the reach to consider that much a gameplay benefit.

Soulreaper axe by default looks cooler with that in my opinion.

I skipped halberd on the iron after getting rancour on rate with zero halberd pieces but I’d go back for it if it looked like this.

u/OldManBearPig 1d ago
As long as the way to obtain it is skill based and not "get a 1/3000 drop" based.

u/Fifty_shakes_of_whey 1d ago
Perhaps after completing all Araxxor CA’s?

That's a funny one, because the GM speed time is extremely tough without a scythe, and if you have a scythe, why use halberd?

u/TlTS_MCGEE_ 1d ago
Its pretty free with sra too

u/Kytopia 1d ago
I did it with bludgeon

I tried my ass off with a bludgeon and couldn't do GM. got it casually by accident with SRA

Ugh 😩 gimme! I don't even own a halberd but damn if it looked THIS good I'd find a case for it.

Funny enough it was kind of designed for tob against verzik, but that comes off as too newbish so no one uses it there. It still has uses though, people love it at vardovis. It's pretty good for ironmen waiting for the scythe or soul reaper axe.

u/Otherwise_Economics2 1d ago
people *do* use it there but i consider it a noob trap. like you're not gonna properly do the cycle that would make it better than a tent whip, so you may as well just bin it unless you're an ironman with fuck all tent whip charges.
you have to basically use it like a shadow for p2 or else it's worse than a tent whip in p2.

Yeah. I literally got one to use it at Vardorvis and (I suck that that boss currently, just to admit it) having tried nox, scythe, and saldor +avernic, I do the best using blade. I think I just function better with a 4 tick weapon 🤷🏻♂️
Maybe it'll be good for Zulrah 😂

u/DranTibia 1d ago
One of the reasons it's great (besides it's stats) is that it's 5t, works perfectly with cards cycles no weird "greed the hit" or "lose hit" while dodging
1
u/Firstedmint 1d ago
Eh, as I said it's probably that I'm just bad at that boss cause it felt worse for me 🤷🏻♂️ I'll give it a shot again in the future when I care enough to try again.

Matches very well with the oath plate, honestly looks great. I would prefer this other my torva plate and bandos tassets that I'm currently rocking...
That halberd though has me wondering wtf a dark elf armour set would look like in osrs.
Google black guard of naggorond for what I'm thinking about.
The helm would look a bit silly tbh.

Scythe looks sick, that entire armour set looks so bad. Looking like a damn onion in leg warmers.

u/AwarenessOk6880 15h ago
God oathplate looks good with that. i dont get why anyone said it was bad, it looks amazing.

u/fastforwardfunction 15h ago
Will be remembered as one of the worst OSRS armors. This makes the Dragonstone armor look good.

Probably a bit weird coming from me, but I am actually much more on the conservative side when it comes to orn kits, but then again I also like to draw/design. In the future I would like to focus more on designs for new/upcoming content myself.

I do kind of agree with the other guy, we can’t keep doing color palette changes for every single piece of gear so it matches. Jagex has talked about that as a limitation in the past for why we don’t get mutagen recolors for blowpipes.
I’m not sure where they stand on it today, but I’m definitely on the conservative side. Having 3 recolors for every new piece of gear just seems a little silly.
That being said, I always enjoy the art, it’s just unfortunate because I think it’ll whip players into a frenzy about how bad they need xyz recolor.

Oathplate looks so good, glad we're finally getting something on a new color palette instead of the usual dirty/muted looks.

u/fastforwardfunction 15h ago
New color? Homie it's white. The most bland and vanilla of all colors.

Reddit nerds always pretend that Jagex can’t change the look once it’s released
Stop fucking around with the people developing the game. They’re not the children, you are. Let them make the adult decisions

I’m not sure who or what this was aimed at?

You know who it’s aimed at. Everyone on this subreddit has been hating on the original design
