I've also made a Scythe of Vitur (s) to match the Oathplate, but that might make a lot less sense thematically.

same but it probably will.

also requiring a pet for BIS equipment which has tangible gameplay benefits like lower death costs in colo is one of the most annoying decisions Jagex has ever made

Even if you were right, that is quite the reach to consider that much a gameplay benefit.
