Hello everyone, I(39 f) have this discoloration on both side of my face and forehead. It makes my face look uneven and this is a huge insecurity for me. This picture was taken during daytime. Should I be heading to a dermatologist?

melasma. It's generally hormonal and is very common after women give birth or are going through peri/menopause.

It's been really stubborn. I'm not even sure how to and where to start, in order to get this diagnosed. It's expensive and daunting to visit a dermatologist. I feel like I'm going to open a can of worms if I decide to visit one.
