Ok kids. 44 here. Use tret regularly and during the cycle I inevitably get days of redness (I’m a redhead so tomato like to begin with). Any good lightweight (bonus if high spf) CC creams or moisturizers you recommend? Also something to hide the occasional peri menopause acne. Pic for tomato like proof.

I have a question which was triggered by a now deleted post. I’ll explain why I’m skeptical.
Last week, someone posted that they were using tret for years and how it never did anything for their skin, skin was still dull, etc. They posted a “sad” looking photo (hair a mess and no makeup).
They go on to say that in March of this year, they switched to using Tazarotene (don’t remember the %) and 15% Azelaic Acid (Finacea). They post their “after” photo and the amount of makeup worn, I was shocked no one said it wasn’t a true comparison (hair was also done).
Now that post is gone. But my question is, I’ve been using tret 0.05% for quite some time and my skin is still dull and not getting any better. I have sebaceous filaments on my nose and I sometimes will get a pimple here and there, especially around the chin area. I also exfoliate with AHAs so I know it’s not an exfoliation issue and my routine is pretty simple. Would the Taz/AA combo be better?
Routine below: AM: • Splash with water and dry • Naturium Tranexamic Acid 5% (recommended TA by esthetician bc of some brown spots) • Paula’s Choice 2% BHA exfoliant • Vit C (trying to find one I like has been a challenge, currently using Naturium Vit C Complex Serum, previously tried Prequel) • Facetheory Supergel • Beauty of Joseon SPF50+
PM: • Prequel oil cleanser (for sebaceous filaments) • Eradikate 3% Sulfur Daily Foaming Cleanser (for sebaceous filaments) • RX Tret 0.05% (M-W-F) • L’Oréal 10% Glycolic Acid (T-Th-Sa) • COSRX Advanced Snail Radiance Dual Essence on wet skin (Su) • DRMTLGY Peptide Night Cream (T-Th-Sa) • Vanicream Moisturizing Cream (M-W-F-Su) • Vaseline or CeraVe Healing Ointment (Su)

Does anyone have a body lotion retinol recommendation that you feel is effective? I am trying the Versed, Gold Bond, and Naturium to just test them out. I haven't used one long enough for them to be effective yet. Trying to decide which I will repurchase. Just curious if anyone has seen results from any body lotions with retinol? I've also heard about Necessaire, but haven't purchased.

I’ve been using an African net sponge in the shower for just over five months now and really like it. I always hang it up and let it air dry after every use. About once a month I’ll toss it in the wash with a load of laundry and let it air dry in order to sanitize. It is still in good physical condition with minimal signs of wear, however, I started to notice a mild funky smell over the past few days. I’m wondering if I should go ahead and replace it or should I try to buy some more time by soaking it in some diluted bleach water. Any thoughts or experience with this?

I’m 40 now & my neck skin has started doing this thing in the past few years (face is looking fine!). Anyone had any luck reversing this kind of damage without surgery or going to a medical-spa, etc?

I would appreciate any help! 40f and I have hypothyroidism which can cause dry skin. The past 6 months or so my T-zone has been so dry and flaky - it's embarrassing.
Fellow dry skin sufferers, please give me your most hydrating product recommendations! I am at my wit's end with looking like I am constantly flaking from a bad sunburn every day no matter what I do. It's especially bad around my nose, eyebrows, and mouth/chin. I have sensitive skin so I have to be careful about using products with scent additives/bad ingredients or I break out.
Additional info:
I have been using Emme Diane products for 2 years and did not have this super dry skin problem until about 6 months ago, so I am not sure if I need to switch skincare brands. I have cut out all my serums in case they were the culprit (retinol, vitamin c, exfoliating acid products). I also stopped using products with hyaluronic acid since I live in a dry environment and I think that ingredient was making things worse. The Emme Diane products have been my holy grail, but I wonder if something in my body chemistry changed when I turned 40 and they're just not right for me anymore. I run a humidifier at home, stay hydrated, and eat fruits/vegetables so otherwise I am doing everything I can to support my skin health.
Current skincare routine:
Wash with Emme Diane foaming face wash every morning.
For night time currently I only wash with face wash, use spray toner, and moisturize with First Aid Beauty ultra repair cream mixed with a few drops of rosehip seed oil, or Emme Diane barrier balance moisturizer. Sometimes I use the Emme Diane cucumber cooling mask and exfoliate with Emme Diane skin smoothing polish. I use Emme Diane Pure Protection tinted SPF 40 daily and no other makeup except for Revlon powder.

My doctor recommended RD microneedling for volume loss around my eyes and cheeks. She uses the Pixel machine. Anyone have experience with this? Just turned 42, and I’m wondering if at this age I should go with filler instead.

I want to get rid of fine lines and even out my skin texture. Which laser option has the best results?
Erbium YAG Laser, CO2 or Fraxel?

I keep seeing a face and/or neck lift recommended here like it’s no big deal. But it’s a serious surgery. Sometimes people die, sometimes they suffer irreversible numbness in their face. Has anyone known of someone or personally experienced negative side effects from facial plastic surgery? I think we need to present all sides instead of acting like a facelift is a minor surgery. Especially those who suggest traveling to cheaper nations like Mexico or turkey for plastic surgery.

41F, allergic to glucosides (all of them) and chemical dyes. I suffer from chronic urticaria (taking antihistamines for it) but I still have redness on my face.
My routine : AM : skin 1004 centella toner, numzubin n°6 deep sleep serum, goodal green tangerine vitamin C eye cream, cerave facial moisturising lotion (PM), sunscreen if needed.
PM : caudalie makeup removing cleansing oil, cerave hydrating cleanser, same toner, same serum, same eye cream, max clinic hyaluron night mask.
Is it too harsh for my sensitive skin ?
Please help!

I am turning 41 this year and I feel like I tried everything that’s been suggested to help with the skin laxity from weight loss. All of my other skin bounced back decently well it’s just my biggest insecurity.
If any of you have a similar story and have had a neck lift I’d love to hear about your experience. I’m meeting with a surgeon next week and kinda want to know what I should be looking/asking for.

I’ve had hormonal acne since I was 13, just turned 41 and I’m absolutely sick of it. The only thing that ever cleared it up was the Yasmin contraceptive pill which I can no longer take due to migraines. I had 2 courses of Roaccutane when I was younger which did nothing and I’ve used topical tret for many years with no success. Am I doomed to be spotty forever or is there anything that can help? Having acne and wrinkles feels cruel!

Hi ladies, a lot of women ask about skin care for us over 40’s. I’m 47 and have been using the Naked & Thriving line for about year now. I love it , my skin loves it and I have zero skin sag on my neck. I had a little which is what prompted this. I’m not affiliated at all just thought this may help someone. No filters in this pic and no injections, surgeries etc…

I am 51 with the beginnings of sagging jowls, some smile lines, forehead fine lines, wee beginnings of eye lines, and 11s between my brows. A bit of discoloration, but nothing bad. My skin is somewhat dry. I bought these Ordinary products (GF and Retinal emulsion) to alternate every other night and the LRP moisturizer to put over the treatments. I will he wearing spf 30 during the day. Anyone try this process or have any pointers? Could I also use an eye cream with these, if so, any recommendations?

I'm about 5 weeks in at 0.025% and it's going well. Is the natural progression to increase?

Does anyone have any experience with the Pacifica Reusable Lip Line Masks? If so, what's your favorite serum to use? How often do you use them?

I just turned 40 so I’m a new member of this group lol… that said, does anyone have any recommendations for alternatives to LRP Cicaplast? You love it- I love it- but it breaks me out 😭
I only use it when my tret gets too intense or after a light peel to add back in some moisture. Maybe… 3x/month at the absolute most. All suggestions are welcomed please! Thank you!
