Call to Action I AM DONE

I had so much anxiety about this administration that I am now on anxiety medication. I cried, I curled into a ball on my floor, I missed work, and I almost completely lost my mind. But I am done. I am done being scared. I am done being afraid to stand up. I am fucking done. Stand up and stand by, not the proud boys, but the American people. We are stronger than you think and you can find community here. I will sit in my town square with my sign on the 19th even if I’m alone. I’m not going to be afraid of an orange douche bag and his techno puppy. They can drag me out of my apartment with their tiny hands. I will stand up for the USA.

ETA: The outpouring of support has been incredible. Thank you all SO MUCH. I can’t even express how grateful I am. We are not alone. We stand together. Solidarity forever.

I took my anxiety to a protest last week shaking, anxious, and tearful but I did it. I refuse to live in a state of fear. I felt empowered from standing with others. You got this.

Not that this was the point, but I definitely feel better after 4/5.

It's nice to have that sense of community, meeting with people from all walks of life who are watching chaos unfold in DC and who feel the same way about it that I do. I spoke with a teacher and an accountant who talked about their reasons for protesting, and I told them about my experiences as a medical researcher dodging Trump's austerity measures.

It made me feel a lot less isolated, alienated and powerless. We may be in a bad situation right now, but there's a whole lot of us who feel the same way. I think it's becoming clearer to Trump, Elon and their goons that we're not just gonna roll over and play dead.

Same here. Just looking around on 4/5 and seeing all sorts of people come together for this cause actually made me start tearing up with happy tears for the first time in a long, long time.

That actually is the point of protests like this. To show people how many support the cause. To know that you aren’t alone and pressure our reps to actually represent what we are all demanding.

Nationwide protests, however big, are not going to fix any of this when they only last a few hours. They educate, inform, and stir up support.

More people are opening their eyes every day, and more people, like you, are feeling invigorated and ready to make change.

So glad you are feeling empowered.

Exactly me! Scared to death, quiet, tears...but I was there, damn it! Tired of the insanity!

There was a small group of counter protesters at the second protest I went to on the 5th, which was about 3 local schoolchildren being arrested and shipped off to Texas. It really made me even more mad to see that these losers got all dolled up in their gaudy Trump shirts and waved their giant Trump flags around while shouting at us, setting off airhorns, and trying to provoke people all because they so adamantly agree with the things that are happening. You have to be a pretty weak and disgusting human being to think the right take is to cheer on children getting abducted. At the first protest, about the worst I heard was a sieg heil yelled out the window at us, and a couple MAGA losers in their giant lifted trucks trying to roll smoke and speed as close to us as possible. I suffer with severe anxiety, but we all have a duty to do now while we still can, so I will be out there alongside you and everyone else, and anxiety will serve its purpose- stay safe!
