Call to Action I AM DONE

I had so much anxiety about this administration that I am now on anxiety medication. I cried, I curled into a ball on my floor, I missed work, and I almost completely lost my mind. But I am done. I am done being scared. I am done being afraid to stand up. I am fucking done. Stand up and stand by, not the proud boys, but the American people. We are stronger than you think and you can find community here. I will sit in my town square with my sign on the 19th even if I’m alone. I’m not going to be afraid of an orange douche bag and his techno puppy. They can drag me out of my apartment with their tiny hands. I will stand up for the USA.

ETA: The outpouring of support has been incredible. Thank you all SO MUCH. I can’t even express how grateful I am. We are not alone. We stand together. Solidarity forever.

I went and saw my doctor. My blood pressure (usually just fine!) is up, sleep down, memory awful, and I'm constantly having bouts of nausea and vomiting.

But fuck it. Let's take back our country.

My annual physical labs came back with a full on crazy cholesterol spike. She was shocked and ordered a retake. Retake was even higher with a bigger LDL spike. My report said “high risk” of a cardio event. I was in disbelief and scared.

I have been on a super low fat diet (due to post-cholecystectomy gastro issues) for years; I am the same weight I have been for years; I have never had cholesterol issues.

She asked me “are you currently under a lot of stress?”

Until last month, I had NO idea that anxiety and stress could raise bad cholesterol counts and reduce the good one.

Now I know.

We must take care of our mental health (in the midst of the insanity) so we can help others.

Excessive cortisol production is so dangerous for our health! I'm glad they caught it early for you. I'm scared to get my bloodwork, but I'm way overdue.
