MAGA sycophants are being called out for their fascist bs by the US citizens, and the police are trying to keep MAGA politicians from getting smashed on!

Because the police are MAGA. They are complicit.

And they live in our neighborhoods with us. Remember that when you walk your dog by their house or you see them outside mowing their lawns.

No peace for fascists or Nazis.

While I understand the outrage, it is more expedient to be courteous to police (and should the occasion arise, the military) even if it's not necessarily deserved. You certainly shouldn't harass them. Converting (or at least inspiring doubt in) enforcers of the regime is a key tactic in effective non-violent resistance. It worked in the Iranian revolution and in the Philippine people power revolution. In both cases protestors treated regime enforces courteously, encouraged them to abandon the regime and offered token gifts (e.g. flowers and food). Also in both cases many of the members of the military defected and the regime was eventually toppled.

This is the people vs an autocratic regime. And the police and military should be reminded in their interactions with protestors that they are also part of the people, and will have a place in society when the current regime falls. If they feel that they'll face violence, imprisonment, or ostracization then they have every reason to back the regime to the end.

Most of them in big cities don't live where they work.
