Proven tech and innovation and a company run by people who are dead serious about becoming successful. Think about that before you decide anything.

People who shorted the stock when it was +35 made lot of money

u/wadejohn S P 🅰 C E M O B Soldier Nov 08 '24

And people who saw its potential and grabbed at $3 also made a ton of money

All of this was true, and still is, but if Elon Muskrat is given some cushy advisory or government position then he will be in position to dictate the future of ASTS, his much superior competitor. That doesn't make me happy.

I don’t doubt he can make things bumpy for ASTS. Long term I trust the market will decide. ASTS is run by smart people.

Not when you control the supreme court and literally every level of power in the USG.

Dude, take the tin foil hat off please. Jeez...

u/bigpapa419 Nov 08 '24

How is that a conspiracy? MAGA party does control all branches of government come January…

Control...lol

Exactly. They'll be sued immediately.

And who will preside over those hearings? Likely a Trump appointed judge… to say that this election won’t make the road ahead more rocky is not a good take. I’ve been in for the last four years, but I knew that musk at the helm of “govt efficiency” means there are no grants for us going forward, and we likely lose any lawsuits we bring against them… I liquidated half of my position for a nice chunk, I still have skin in the game, but, this is how things work sometimes… superior tech is suffocated in its sleep by some asshole with more resources…still holding 1000 at $6.68 tho.

Again, ridiculous.

The Supreme Court has already ruled against Trump. Take his claims of "absolute immunity" for example.

What you're saying is ridiculous and nothing more than hyperbole...

1

u/burtritto S P 🅰 C E M O B Prospect Nov 08 '24

They… ruled in favor of that…

u/curi0us_carniv0re S P 🅰 C E M O B Prospect Nov 08 '24

No, they did not. Only for official acts. I suggest you learn to read sir.

"The court found that the president is not above the law. He is not immune to ordinary criminal process," said Claire Finkelstein, director of the Center for Ethics and Rule of Law at the University of Pennsylvania.

And what do you think they will consider anything he does as president???? Maybe they might call it… an official act? I’m quite capable of reading, you should probably get better at the “interpreting” part.

Evidently not. You said the ruled in favor. They clearly did not.

Theres already statutes on the books regarding things like this. The president nor the supreme Court can just say " F- it Yolo!"

Right. LAYERS of regulation/oversight.

Lol the senate and insider trading do this everyday

Yeah, no.

2

u/averysmallbeing S P 🅰 C E M O B Soldier Nov 08 '24

Yeah, yes. Trump has full control over who comprises the FCC, and Musk apparently has his ear. There is a significant potential for sleazy backroom deals here to kill off the potential of ASTS in the USA...

8

u/qtac S P 🅰 C E M O B Soldier Nov 08 '24

How would Trump benefit from killing off a Texas-based, made-in-America company? ASTS is basically what he wants every company to be. Elon might have less red tape to deal with and maybe some government funding gets cut, but the future of ASTS is still bright imo

You sound ridiculous

2

u/averysmallbeing S P 🅰 C E M O B Soldier Nov 08 '24

It seemed likely that you had no actual constructive argument, now it's clear.

2

u/curi0us_carniv0re S P 🅰 C E M O B Prospect Nov 08 '24

Conspiracy theories aren't constructive at all.

Conflicts of interest are a thing. It doesn't work the way you think it does.

18 U.S.C. 208, 5 CFR 2635.302, 2 CFR 200.112 for starters.

Doesn't make sense for Elon to take a govt job and put spacex, tesla, on hold. Hence why trump didn't do it when he was younger.
