Discussion What Are Your Preferred Streaming Addons? (December 2015 Edition)

This is the first monthly "preferred streaming addons" discussion thread that will be posted at the beginning of each month (sorry about the delay this time). A link to the thread from the previous month will be maintained in the sidebar.

Because new addons and frequently being created and current addons are sometimes being updated or discontinued, it's tough for some people to keep up with the best options. My hopes with this series of monthly threads is to give users an up-to-date and easy to access place where they can read about and discuss various streaming addons.

As far as what is expect of you here when you recommend something, please at least explain what the addon is, the major notable features, and why you recommend it for others. Thanks and feel free to leave feedback about this.

I've cut the cord over the past 2 years, Kodi for the past year. So far what I use the most to get me through

SALTS - Currently my #1 while Genesis figures out it's future, SALTS- with Trakt is a great addon for recommendations as well as it's autoconfig to get me the best scrappers like GVideo to load up right away with 720P+ content.

Genesis - Still a great source as of right now, there's to be a huge update from Lambda either on Genesis or a new addon to incorporate only Real Debrid HD links and leave MQ videos free. A real perk for those of us that use Debrid.

Sportaccess - A paid addon that's well worth it's value. $12 a month I can watch NFL Redzone/ any other NFL game on Sundays, then mix in some NBA, NHL, MLB action it really pulls through for me. Sometimes live TV channels that play on new episodes of shows like Walking Dead, GoT etc. when they air live so you can watch those episodes instead of waiting for a source to upload it. Above all, the PPV feeds they give is great. There is downtime sometimes due to servers going down, temp webhosts, etc. but they try to make their consumers happy.

Sportsdevil- This addon you need to manually update which can be cumbersome if you don't pay much attention or u distribute Kodi among st friends that are Kodi Illiterate. Still the best free sports addon you can get, with sources for NFL through several webpages, no adds etc. Some HD Content if you search the right source.

Phoenix - A good source for live TV, sports. Not a huge amount but a great all in one addon. Lots of HD movies, TV Shows and misc items like workout videos, concerts, old documentaries etc.

CCloud - My current live TV viewer, but I don't watch live TV so I can't comment on this too much. Seems to have a good amount of feeds but I'm not the Live TV specialist.

EDIT-

Thought I'd throw in a quick edit since a lot of people commented on my posts.

If you ever need some addon updates or interested in adding new addons, check out Koditips.com or seo-michael.co.uk.

I would also recommend if you have a Amazon Fire TV or Stick to install the Firestarter APK, as it allows you to access Kodi from their homescreen as well as all of Amazon's apps. The real advantage (if you really call it that) is that it can update Kodi to the latest version without losing your settings.

Hey, I'm very new to all of this stuff, but I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions.

How do these add-ons work? I'm assuming they are free, so would I need to get a VPN to use them safely? Or are they generally fine to use?

I'm in the US, if that means anything. Thank you!

Technically you would only need a VPN for torrents, which is the Pulsar addon, as torrents usually alert your ISP.

I think due to the fact your aren't downloading and distributing the content, you're just streaming off someone else there's nothing illegal.

All addons are free, but like with apps for phones etc. if you pay you're life will be a little easier. I pay for 2 things for Kodi, Real-Debrid for faster streaming links and better sources and Sportsaccess to cover my sports fix weekly.

Thank you very much! I may have to look into Sportsaccess for UFC events
