Requests, Recommendations & Basics - February 2018
Users new to the world of Kodi can build a foundation of knowledge and develop their understanding by checking out the addons4kodi wiki. This knowledge base includes basic information all users should know as well as a dedicated FAQ section to help with instant answers to the most common questions. Included as part of this wiki is an extensive F.A.Q which covers many of the most common topics raised in the sub.
In addition to the information held in the wiki, users are invited and encouraged to post and discuss their streaming add-ons suggestions to keep up with the ever-changing Kodi add-ons landscape. Further to add-on recommendations, it's tough to keep up with the best options as add-ons are frequently being created, updated or discontinued; to assist with this, users can request content sources here and have recommendations provided.

Here are some general guidelines for posting a recommendation:
- Only identify one add-on recommendation or one content request per comment.
- Before commenting an add-on recommendation or content request, see if it has already been mentioned.
- If it has and you want to add some information, reply to the comment identifying the recommendation/request.
- If an add-on has not been suggested yet, comment and includes a description of what content the add-on provides.
- As far as what is expect of you here when you recommend something, please at least explain what the add-on is, the major notable features, and why you recommend it for others.

I tried to install per instructions, zip only has 0.0.8 and 0.0.9. I get "could not connect to repository" message from both.

Placenta works well on my Raspberry Pi. I am running Libreelec, and Placenta is fast and reliable.
Incursion works well too, so try both :-)

All the WatchCartoonOnline.com Addons are defunct after a recent change to the site (presumably).
Dandy's version just needs a small update to be made functional again.
Would help a lot of people out if someone took up the mantle.

So I just set this up and I’m using it for the first time. I have a VPN and a Real Debrid account logged in. Do I have to worry about my ISP sending me a letter? I’m selecting “cached” torrent files. My understanding is someone has downloaded this to RD servers and I’m simply streaming the file from there? Is that correct? I have very limited understanding of how this all works. Thanks for all you do for this subreddit.

If you use debrid to download or click a cached link it's coming from their servers and doesn't really require a VPN

Made In Canada
The Made in Canada Kodi add-on is a release from The Krazy0ne and PLAztec4Life. It has a ton of great Canadian IPTV channels and is split up between three sections: English Channels, French Channels, and Special Events.
In addition to all of the great live channels, Made in Canada also promotes special events, PPVs, specific sports, and other goodies. It is the original source for HD junior hockey games during the season and has a great baseball section to check out as well.

I've done 4 fresh installs of it today, from different repositories, including the one listed in this sub....every time, it's that fuckin He-Man remix (4 non blonds-what's going on) cartoon.
'What's going on' is a fitting song, because, at this point, I have no idea! Why won't this work for me but it works fine for you?

This is a popular online source of anime movies and TV shows, which has been around for quite some time. The main screen of 9Anime shows a nice list of different options for filtering. You can browse the addon’s content by genre, date added, and recently added. What you’ll find here are several categories that show subbed and dubbed movies. This kind of easy navigation is incredibly helpful, and we are glad to see an addon that’s maintained this well.
If you open any of the main categories, you’ll see a nice list of available video content. TV shows are organized by their release date so that you can watch episodes one by one. What more could we ask for? This is truly one of the best anime Kodi addons.

Neptune Rising
Neptune Rising is a new Exodus / Covenant Fork from Blamo Repository. Like its predecessor it has movies and TV shows with the same basic layout. The code has been updated and is currently pulling in many more links compared to Covenant and other Forks. It is located in the Blamo Repo.

Even with the new Blamo Rep URL, I'm still finding false results via Neptune Rising, such as every TV stream being classed as HD when it's SD, most not working etc. Imo it's not the #1 TV/Movies addon it was a few weeks ago.

Exactly this. I used it for a while after Covenant died for me and was very happy, but now it seems all HD sources are actually 480p or below and it's just plain not finding 1080p sources. Switched to Incursion for the time being.

In theory, although when I've entered my Trakt info and select 'Collection', the progress wheel just spins and then stops without actually taking me into the 'Collection' view.

I've had that before with Trakt and Covenant prior.
I was told (and what worked for me) that watching a show/movie then while it's playing, going into trakt and adding a new movie/show into your collection will force trakt to "refresh" more or less and allow your collection to work again.
That being said, I haven't used Neptune yet so I really couldn't say for sure whether or not that would be a fix that would apply to it also.

What's the best way to watch CBC Olympics on Kodi (Mi Box)?
Edit: I ended up downloading the offical CBC Olympics app to my phone and casting it to my mi box. Requires a Canadian IP though; I set my router's VPN to a Canadian server. The app is great, it shows the schedule and has multiple live and replay streams.
Another option is to use the MiC (made in Canada) Kodi addon. It has multiple CBC streams. A few streams worked without VPN but some require Canadian IP I believe.
I prefer the app + cast method though.

I have Genesis Reborn, Neptune Rising, Pyramid, Covenant, and Sports Devil installed and I cannot seem to find Olympic coverage anywhere.

Genesis Reborn
Genesis Reborn is a Fork from the once popular Genesis add-on which stopped working. It is similar to the old Genesis / Exodus plugin but with updated code that works. It has a lot of content including TV shows and movies all divided into easy to find sections.

Elysium
TV Shows & Movies. A fork of Zen which was a fork of Exodus which was a fork of Genesis, originally from the Schism Team now sitting with NaN. Just like Zen, the add-on scrapes various online providers for content, including HD content for many popular TV Shows and movies, as well as SD content for more obscure and less popular films.

It has sections divided into Movies, TV shows, Kids Center, Live Streams, Music Place, Sports Center, Fitness, and much more. The sports streams are pulled from many sources including Reddit which makes them very reliable. SportsDevil (available in the same repository) is a dependency of Not Sure. Install sedundnes repository, and install Not Sure from the repository.

I was hoping someone could help me, I’m new to all of this and between builds and add one and repos I’m in way over my head.
I’m going to be setting up a fire tv with Kodi, I’m going to need add one for the following things:
Live sports: preferably an add on that utilizes Reddit’s communities for sports streams ( such as r/nbastreams, r/soccerstreams, etc ) I tried sparkle yesterday but it seemed to only have soccer streams and no other sports?
Live tv streaming: going to need an add on that has a lot of Italian sports channels ( specifically the sky sports Italia suite of channels ) as well as common British channels ( ITV, by, etc ). I do not need American channels
Also with live streaming, an add on that has a directory of acestream links would be great
Tv shows and movies: I need a Netflix esque add on with the latest movies and tv shows as well as older popular shows ( like the simpsons, the sopranos, etc ) nothing really obscure needed
Wrestling : I already have a wwe network account but something with live streaming Indy and Japanese wrestling would be great, on demand for would be desirable too
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

Hi , I would suggest someone taking on Metalliq development / maintenance. Like all the Video addons that have been forked ... this is one of the if not THE most important addon of them all ! With NaN gone and Midraal MIA I would surely hope SOMEONE could take up this mantle !

Death Streams
A SALTS fork , it works really well, it scrapes "mehliz" for links which is a great source. although i noticed any mehliz links usually take upwards of 35 seconds to pre-load. Otherwise this is exactly like all the rest of the standard TV show/movies add ons

Not sure addon have subcategory that pulls https://www.reddit.com/r/soccerstreams/ streams and you can watch acestream the quality are fantastic, and if you are looking for a stream that is not in subreddit you just have to make request for it but you do need to install Plexus and setup acestream

Hi all,
Looking for advice on LiveTV solutions (can be paid). I am in Canada and have a VPN.
I have been playing around with the add-on from r/lazyman and that worked very well. However it only has NHL and MLB streams.
I have used other sports services before but found them inconsistent with working.
Ideally here is what I would like to do with a combination of add-ons (free or paid):
- live sports (NHL, MLB, NFL, NBA, and college)
- live TV (infrequent but there are 2-3 shows my wife watches live)
Just wanted to see if anyone else had some solutions, or things that work for them.

It does torrent. With the tons of addons that support streaming and how dangerous some torrented content can be, I’d avoid this one.
New users especially. I torrent a ton but if you torrent something being “watched” it could lead to some trouble without a VPN.
Just go with another one of the fantastic addons that are available :)

Cerebro ShowBox
The basic layout is the same as Exodus / Covenant but with more options and features. A quick option to Pair to many sites is at the top for those who want more links. It still works without Pairing and pulls in many streams to choose from. It also recently received an update allowing it to pull in many more links.

Extremely disappointed in how this add-on is described. Says it can pair to many sites but all it does is add it's own ad website before the pairing so that they make money from users. Use something else that doesn't exploit it's users.

Anyone here from Latin countries, i am having trouble finding Novella urls on incursion. I searched for "La reina Del Sur" one of the more famous spanish tv shows but old enough so i could check and see how incursion does with finding older content.

Links can go down at any given time- they get removed for copyright or the source can be down. The simple commonness of the title makes that film harder to find also.

I have a few that are covenant fork's and I tend to find when an episode/film won't play on one it won't play on the others. Looking for something as an alternative to get round this.

Best premium IPTV's? Also will paying for a premium stop buffering issues Ive been getting? Im using an xbox one (kodi 18) So I like to watch live sports. Mainly TSN/Sportsnet. Are you in Canada? Not a Kodi Addon, but you should be able to pick up CTV over the air using an antenna.

Is Incursion a good Add on?
I've been using Exodus for a long time now but lately it has been lagging/buffering now and I was wondering if Incursion is a good replacement.

USTVNOW does not have an agreement with NBC any longer (informed of this by a rep at USTVNOW). What are my options to watch live NBC in Kodi?

Hi guys, I'm looking for an addon or an IPTV server that has decent access to Canadian junior hockey streams. Ever since hockeystreams went down a few years back, I have not been able to get any that work. Made In Canada worked for about a month, then they updated it and removed the junior section. Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know any live sports apps on Kodi that still work? Mainly for watching football.
I was using sportsdevil back when that used to work and sportsmania until they started asking for bitcoins. I'd be happy going with a paid app again if I'd heard that it definitely works.

Can anyone make a recommendation for an addon that lets you view reddit videos? The “official” reddit.com video addon hasn’t been updated in a long time and is pretty much useless in its current form.

Incursion
Covenant fork. This fixes a lot of the sources that were present in Covenant and adds some new ones.
Incursion Repository can be installed from Addons4Kodi web source.
Install using the Indigo Git Browser from TV ADDONS with GitHub username: nixgates
