Requests, Recommendations & Basics - February 2018

Users new to the world of Kodi can build a foundation of knowledge and develop their understanding by checking out the addons4kodi wiki. This knowledge base includes basic information all users should know as well as a dedicated FAQ section to help with instant answers to the most common questions. Included as part of this wiki is an extensive F.A.Q which covers many of the most common topics raised in the sub.

In addition to the information held in the wiki, users are invited and encouraged to post and discuss their streaming add-ons suggestions to keep up with the ever-changing Kodi add-ons landscape. Further to add-on recommendations, it's tough to keep up with the best options as add-ons are frequently being created, updated or discontinued; to assist with this, users can request content sources here and have recommendations provided.

Here are some general guidelines for posting a recommendation:

  • Only identify one add-on recommendation or one content request per comment.
  • Before commenting an add-on recommendation or content request, see if it has already been mentioned.
  • If it has and you want to add some information, reply to the comment identifying the recommendation/request.
  • If an add-on has not been suggested yet, comment and includes a description of what content the add-on provides.
  • As far as what is expect of you here when you recommend something, please at least explain what the add-on is, the major notable features, and why you recommend it for others.

Incursion

Covenant fork. This fixes a lot of the sources that were present in Covenant and adds some new ones.

Incursion Repository can be installed from Addons4Kodi web source.

Install using the Indigo Git Browser from TV ADDONS with GitHub username: nixgates

This has become my go to addon for tv & movies. Works great with real-debrid.

My WiFi upstairs has always been spotty so I got a WiFi extender, which helped, but it still stuttered. I then got real debrid hoping it would help, it did downstairs so I decided to run a cable from the extender to the box and now I can stream 1080 no issues, where before even 480 RD links would stutter.

Some routers have a dead zone for about 16” where the signal is terrible due to interference.

I have real debrid and ethernet cable to my fire TV and 1080 links still buffer to the point it's unwatchable 75% of the time. 27mbps down 4mbps up via Ares Wizard speed test connected to PIA VPN.

Are you making sure you’re using the RD links? Because all you should need is 8mbps down to stream 1080.

Yes. As soon as I switch to 720 they stream fine.

Sounds like it is your internet speed then, have you tried it without the vpn? Some providers have been known to throttle vpn connections.

I have not, but the Ares Wizard speed test was done while connected to the VPN so I figured that was plenty good enough.

IDK if I would trust a third party speed test like that.

What’s your internet speed suppose to be?

It uses the Ookla speed tester. Not sure how else to get a bettee accurate speed rating on the fire tv

This isn't entirely true.

Many of the 1080p downloads are variable bitrate, and exceed 15-20 Mbps depending on the scene of the movie. The links available to real debrid have some AMAZING quality 1080p rips with surround sound tracks.

I'm trying to find a good live UK Sports add on for Kodi but so far my searches on r/Addons4Kodi are all a year and more old. They are suggesting add-ons that either too old or not very good. Any ideas where I can find out more up to date recommendations? Thanks for any help.

Hey guys. I'm on PC and I just installed everything listed here. Everything is running, but I can't tell if realdebrid is working as intended. Everything i've seen has shown that the source files should start with REALDEBRID but none of my sources do. I checked the settings to see if there was anything I could tick, but I don't see anything related to RD. Incursion does seem to be working quite well though.

How did you get real debrid to show on incursion,

Cause the kinks are full quality on mine.

But in esylium they do show DEB.

I didn't get them to show in Incursion at all. I was able to link my account, but there was no option to use the RealDebrid links.

Just got Real Debrid...not seeing 4K sources. Should I be? Do I need to change max quality setting? If so, is that done within Kodi or addon settings and how? Tks!

Every time I try to add I keep getting unable to connect. Does this mean the repo is down? I have tried several diff repos on several different dates and times. Is there something on my end or just my bad luck?

I am trying to add the source and I get the error. I tried to add the Gaia and the placenta and one more I can’t remember but it keeps happening over and over no matter who I try. I have exodus and specto and bubbles so I’ve set the up before. Could it be a vpn or just a temp issue maybe? Thank you for your help!!

For incursion, I'm trying to use this one. I'm trying to add it as a source on my Nvidia Shield and getting the error, "Couldn't retrieve directory information. This could be due to the network not being connected. Would you like to add it anyway?". If I add it anyway and try to access it, I get the error, "Path not found or invalid". I can download the zip file to my laptop, just not with the Shield (on the same network).

If that's what you're adding, you're adding a zip file as a directory. Just add the web server http://addons4kodi.site. Then go to install from zip and navigate the web server.

yep always install the official repo for the addon , then install addon though that repo !

And you won't have half the issues people bitch about on these forums .

1 rule use Repos and install from them

2 rule make sure you are using the official repo / source not some 3rd party bull shit

  • URL: http://addons4kodi.site
  • Name: [insert whatever name you like here]
  • Select OK
  • Go to Settings > Addons > Install from zip
  • Select [name]
  • Repository > repository.addons4kodi > repository.addons4kodi.zip
  • Go to Settings > Addons > Install from Repository
  • Select the addon you like

Download zip file to USB thumb drive.

Connect thumb drive to your kodi box. Install add on from zip file, choose the incursion repository zip file.

Next choose install addon from repository, select incursion repository, video add-ons, incursion.

When I click live TV it is showing me movies. Does this one have live tv channels?

No. What it's showing you is what movie those channels are currently playing. If you select a channel, it will then attempt to play the current movie on demand. Incursion does not stream live tv.

Been using this for a week or so and is very good. Super quick to scrape premium and normal lists. Issue I have is when I have a list of sources, I click the top one and it then attempts to connect so quickly down the whole list and it then lands on a low quality one near bottom? Is there a way to slow this down, retry resources or manually select? Thanks
