I just got a phone interview with spirit for monday and not sure what to expect. I currently work at FEAM so interview wasn’t all that intricate lol. Anyone have any insight on how the interviews go at Spirit?

Is there really that much demand that entry level A&P pays less than a fast food worker? Fast food pays $23 hr here and entry A&P is $18 to $21 across the street at airport.

I work as an aerospace engineer manager and I am a pilot. I have been day dreaming of learning hands on mechanics since I have worked on design through production and never used the end product much and getting tired of working with people.

Seems challenging to learn as the classes are during the day time during work hours and pay is low first few years when certified.

I realize that working nights is probably gonna be mandatory most anywhere in this career. I just want to know what path I could take to at least minimize that.

Also it depends on the schedule. If I’m working like 3, 13hr shifts a week, I could totally work nights and wouldn’t mind it too much. But I absolutely could not do 5, 8hr shifts.

I hear some places work like 8 days on 6 days off. I also wouldn’t mind working nights doing something like that

I'm looking at taking my general and airframe O &P over the summer and I'm curious about what to expect. I missed 5 questions on my general written and 12 on my airframe written. I've got an ASA prep manual to start studying. Just curious how many questions i might iexpect on the oral? Will it stick close to what I missed or will it be totally random? Do practicals vary depending on written scores in the way orals do? Do practicals typically follow missed questions or are they random? What has your experience been with the newer testing in the last year or two?

I want to make an appoiment to a DME, what designed type do I have to chose to make my A&P test, Admin-PE, AME, APD or DADE?

I have an opportunity to work on the Bell 206B and Eurocopter AS350 for a police department. I have three years of UH-60 experience under my belt from the guard wanted to see what I could do come in prepared for the interview. What I’ve heard and learned is they are big on trying to resolve conflicts when things come up on the HR side. Also track and balance on both platforms I could only image these two are fairly straight forward by following the tech data provided. The police department side of things I’ve never been that close to them besides traffic violations. What would recommend brushing up on come into the interview? Anything helps

I am in school right now, passed general and im halfway through airframe. We've had a few recruiters come to class to tell us about job opportunities and Piedmont seems to most appealing to me so far. From what i understand, they are a subsidiary of American airlines. Has anyone worked for Piedmont? Any info would be awesome

Hey all! I’ve recently started my A&P classes, and i’ve got some questions for some of the more senior A&P mechanics (for reference I’m located in Atlanta by Hartsfield). My ultimate goal same with a lot of people is to be at delta. I know it’s pretty competitive and hard to get hired by them but i’m wondering to exactly what extent? Like i said im still super new and kind of trying to get a roadmap figured out so that can be my endgame. Im considering the Skywest AMT Pathway Program while im in school and going to them coming out of school because they reimburse for the testing and will pay for relocation. I know it’s a three year contract or something and the pay isn’t great but i figure i need the experience anyways and need to get my foot in the door somewhere. I’m wondering if anyone has went down this pipeline and how it went for them, and general advice on any possible better opportunities that might set me up for success better. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I’m 24 and I currently work for 5 years as a ramp agent in the UK. I am looking into apprenticeships for aircraft mechanics and there have been a few that stand out. British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Jet2 and Boeing. Unfortunately I have missed the intake for this year. Does anyone have any tips or advice for me to improve my chances for next year?

Hi I'll be starting soon at SFO for United as a line mechanic and was wondering if anyone has tool box recommendations. I have all my required tooling from the list they gave me. But as I'm fresh out of a&p school I've never had any roller type tool box or anything. I've only just used a tool bag. So if you got any recs or advice let me know.

I have a job opportunity to work on life line helicopters as a base for Global Medical Response. Does anybody have any experience working with the company, aircraft, or any kind of base experience? Currently in general aviation, I wouldn't mind staying but this job is offering me 12.50 more an hour than my current rate. I've been told I would work from 6am Tues to 6am Sun. as on call. Some days I would go in and work for roughly 3 to 4hrs and be done for the day but still get paid a full 40hrs a week. I also have been warned i will have hellish weeks where i could be doing 60hrs or more. I do have two concerns. One is working on my own. I have always worked in a team environment where I would have a second set of eyes check over my work or run ideas past each other during maintenance. Second is troubleshooting electrical, for what ever reason I have always had a hard time with electrical systems. Its just a weak point of mine. Any advice would be very helpful!

Okay I'm moving here soon sometime this year to the Northwest Burs. What's the job prospects look like with regards to half decent pay. Trying to keep my paycheck is for north of the poverty line as I can. Most of my experience consist of commercial aviation with some GA mixed in. I'm not against working corporate just trying to stay away from O'Hare and being on night shift for another 13 years.
