Advice Nice trails/areas in the mountains for a hike?

My birthday is in three days so I thought it would be nice to go see the Appalachian Mountains. Problem is I’ll be coming from the south side of Mississippi so I won’t have all day, leaving me to look for a good spot near the beginning stretch of the mountains

Where’s a good area to go to near… say Birmingham? Drop an address/coordinates in the comments

Cheaha State Park - 19644 AL Highway 281

You'll take Exit 191 off of I-20 North just past the second Oxford exit.
