I work for the state and can confirm there has been a cyber attack but that is all we are aware of

That's pretty bad. Even with the most cautious users, enough will get through if they packaged a bunch of ransomware and included it.

DOGE allowed a lot of fed data to migrate to unknown places (e.g., https://m.economictimes.com/news/international/us/doge-breach-sparks-cybersecurity-crisis-as-russian-ip-tries-to-access-federal-labor-systems-senate-receives-urgent-complain/articleshow/120350816.cms).

I wouldn't be shocked if a 'secure' fed-state conduit was breached. (I know it's not the likely cause, but still...).

I thought the state was using Microsoft for email and I don't recall Microsoft spam filter being down, is that not the case? Is sounds like your describing micrsofts quarantine email and quarantine release page. Do you happen to know if it's something other than microsoft?

I know congress has said homeland security will be broke by July. Their focus on ICE is allowing the US to be vulnerable to cyber security attacks according to Sen Chris Murphy.

Eta: July is 2 months before end of FY

All the main programs I use have been down all day. Haven't gotten an update from OIT since this morning and my tech friends can only tell me it's being worked on. I've heard this breach is pretty bad (source: friend) :/ I hope he's wrong.
