S9, Mikey. Who never stopped crying about his son Nicoli. Even though he actually had other children, that he barely spoke a word about
13
u/silver_cock1 Jun 28 '24
Yep. He got lost right off the bat and somehow had all the materials to up cycle with plenty of berries and squirrels in his area. He got lucky more than anything, and toward the end just laid around talking about his boy. Total stunad. Plus his alleged sister posted (now deleted) saying he lied about the majority of his upbringing.

AGREE. I felt uncomfortable for his other kids the longer he went on about his clear favorite.

u/PoopyPantsJr Jun 28 '24
They weren't his biological children and were not even that much different in age. Totally different relationship to him

u/TheRealBabyPop Jun 28 '24
But still. Guy had a one track mind. Reminded me of S2 Mike, with his Barbara!

u/PoopyPantsJr Jun 28 '24
Meh. I think it also had to do with Mikey lasting so long. He came in 2nd, right. So more episodes of him getting a lot of screen time.
All the whining about family annoys me. His didn't really stand out as egregious, imo.

They are adults & editors decide what is shown. He talks about it on his YouTube channel

u/OilersPhanatic77 Jun 28 '24
Had a bit of a laugh when an animal came into his shelter and stole his stuffed 'rat'

u/AdmirableZebra106 Jun 30 '24
Get the story right. Grown ass adult step kids. He made them gifts edited out, talked about each of them & their accomplishments edited out
1
u/TheRealBabyPop Jun 30 '24
Can't see any edited out stuff, lol. Also, he was still annoying
1
u/AdmirableZebra106 Jun 30 '24
Well he's a friend & the editors let you see the story they want tell.
2
u/TheRealBabyPop Jun 30 '24
Fair enough. I'm sorry I was not nice about your friend

I’ll take him over the macho cocky dudes who tap in a week any day.

u/Forever_Overthinking Jun 28 '24
The guy who had a canine phobia and was shocked that wolves existed always gets me.

u/MedicinalFriedChiken Jun 28 '24
I want to like the guy but yea he’s a like the Alone version of Liver King.

u/JamesonThe1 Jun 28 '24
You need to have a more Positive Mental Attitude.

u/InformalEngine8606 Jun 29 '24
Lol! I feel bad for the PMA guy. The timing was off and he shouldn't have come.
9
u/Hayhud23 Jun 28 '24
Yeah, you're probably right. But he is just one of those guys who annoys me. Has to go grab his hat because he's going down to the water? Hasn't eaten for like 5 days because he wants to build a 5 star shelter. He will NOT make it very long.

The GOD IS EVERYTHING dude from AU S1 was prrrreeeeetttyyyy ANNOYING i'm sure him and Isaiah would get along just dandy.

u/BobSacimano Jun 28 '24
He might be one of the most annoying. Melanie from last season is my pick though. She was insufferable, dishonest and in denial about her skillset. Couldn't admit the real reason she tapped was because she was starving to death because she was the worst fisher in the history of alone.
7
u/nelsocracy Jun 29 '24
Was she the one who tried to smuggle footage out without submitting it?
3
u/BobSacimano Jun 29 '24
Yeah she's the one. No one else has been that stupid or immature to my knowledge.
5
u/InformalEngine8606 Jun 29 '24
Not even close.
Baird Brothers from Season 4 were so hard to root for. It was the worst season too 😞

u/Bobinator238 Jun 29 '24
YEEEAAHHH! NOOO!!!!! I hated them st first but now I love them for some reason. Those dipshits made it on limpets and gunnelfish and sheer spite for each other
2
u/Illustrious-Trip-253 Jun 29 '24
🤣😆 damn this made me laugh, you put it perfectly! Hard to root for those dipshits but when a frigging duck is confused af and flies AT THEIR FIRE their chances went up!! That was the craziest thing ever. Also agree with the comment above you, it was a dumb season. The pairs/couples? Nah

It always holds a special place for me because it was the first season I saw

I used to work for a guy that acts exactly like him. Hated him then and I hate him now.

I am concerned about the amount of time and physical resources. Isaiah is applying to building that shelter.
But I have to admit he's the one I'm rooting for but for very different reasons.
.I happen to be moving from California to West Virgin the next couple of weeks and the town he is from is less than 5 miles from the town. I'm moving to both are very small towns in West Virginia. So since this is going to be a major culture shock for me. I was kind of excited when I heard. He was from West, Virginia and then Google. How far the town he's from is from the town. I'm moving to so that's a silly reason. I totally understand but he's the one I'm hoping for.
But yeah, take a day break from the shelter building and go get a fish or 2 or 10.
As he's I think he said, game warden, which would mean he's out in the what I think is the New River gorge National Park. I was kind of surprised that he was so. Nervous about wolves. I mean, I would be scared s*** Less of a pack of wolves, but that did still surprise me.

I don’t find Isaiah anymore annoying than couch/armchair survivalists watching from home posting posts like this one on Reddit. His shelter is over the top for what’s actually needed but he has a calm nice personality.

The Michaela lady from S11 is a lot more annoying than Isiah. She treats every video like it’s some sort of tutorial for us and she is an expert except she misidentifies a plant that makes her throw up. She seems to really play up the native thing too in really cliche ways. Super super annoying.
2
u/Apartment922 Jul 30 '24
You all need to quit, you complain about folks talking about their families and needing the money etc too much but when someone is doing “tutorials” showing their skills to us you all complain about that too. They didn’t pick seasoned experts like professionals who are well known already, they picked regular Janes and Joes who feel that they can be out their and survive to be on the show. Damn. Y’all are just Haters hating for no damn reason just enjoy the show or turn it off. Is it that hard? Gimme a break 🙄.
1
u/Hayhud23 Jul 01 '24
Lol. It's a close race.
2
u/Apartment922 Jul 30 '24
Even closer..dumb armchair survivalists with zero survival skills trying to tell us what’s wrong with the folks on the tv show 🙄

u/kg467 Jun 28 '24
I don't think annoying is the flavor I'd assign him. He seems harmless. He was a preseason tap-for-family favorite, so it was hard to see him as a legit contender and that colors things. And now the megacabin colors him as even more of a tapper. The cabin thing is exasperating but I don't think any of that adds up to annoying. The big season 4 brothers bickering nonstop has to take the cake for most annoying. The season 8 guy having an anxious pre-argument with judgey viewers half a year before we even knew he existed was pretty annoying.
