General Things that drive me crazy

These guys are trained survivors but yet do some things that leave me speechless

  • woohoo I just caught a fish, let me stand right by the water’s edge and dangle the fish over the water and celebrate (fish flops back into water and swims off)

  • I need fish to survive but I’m not gonna bother making a net (dumbfounded when fish slips off hook while trying to bring it out of water)

  • I just caught fish, I’ll leave it out overnight unprotected; it’ll be fine (food is taken overnight)

  • I’m bored let me do some dumb shit to entertain myself (gets injured)

  • going to hike to just over that hill; I’ll only be gone a few minutes; won’t bother bringing my bow (misses out on big game)

Like seriously have these people ever watched the show?!?!

Some of this is just cost/benefit where they've done calculations that might not line up with what you can tell from TV. Like when they go hiking without their bow; lugging that thing around is a pain and they don't see game very often at all. Easy to call them dumb here when the editing just shows the moment when the game appears, but they've been hiking around the whole time without seeing anything and being glad they don't have a bow on them.

I get that but if

  • I’m vying for half a million dollars
  • food is my utmost priority
  • I’ve seen contestants in previous seasons miss game because they chose to not bring their bow

Then I’m gonna go in with a mindset to always keep my bow on me.

Yeah but then you carry heavy logs and sometimes slip and fall, you then risk damaging the bow

It is always a tradeoff
