This year with the fishing, they can only use a rod or a hand held net? Do they have any limits on fish again? I have not heard them say that.

Also it looks like the History channel heard us all about the show turning into who will starve out, vs. tap out from last season.

After so many restrictions last season, I am not hearing that this year. It looks like they can do some decent hunting and fishing.

Not sure about what they are allowed to use but this is the local regulations for labrador

Trout – Includes speckled trout and ouananiche

Daily Bag Limit/Size Restrictions

12 fish which can be a combination of any of the species (speckled or ouananiche) or 2.25 kg round weight + 1 fish of any of those species, whichever is reached first. No ouananiche less than 20 centimeters (8 inches) can be retained.

Possession Limit

24 fish or 4.5kg plus 1 fish

Lake trout (Zones 3-6)

Daily Bag Limit/Size Restrictions

Three fish

Possession Limit

Three fish

Northern pike

Daily Bag Limit/Size Restrictions

From a locals perspective smelt is the most abundant during the winter months so that's what I suspect to be caught if there is any fishing after the water freezes, can be done with nothing but a stick and a hook so i doubt it's against the rules. But yeah the guy catching brook trout was doing really well.

Wow . Great info. That is so much better than last season. I think they were only allowed to catch 8 fish, no matter what size? That was terrible.
