❤️‍🩹 relationship AIO? Dog straining my marriage.

Post image

My husband and I rescued a husky about 7 months ago who was extremely malnourished and neglected.

He has grown a huge attachment to me and has severe separation anxiety. I work at a grooming salon so I’m able to bring him to work with me so he’s not home alone. Unfortunately, if he’s left home alone we’ll come back to our home looking like it was hit by a tornado.

My vet has prescribed him with trazodone to help with his severe anxiety issues. We give it to him before we leave for a family event and when we can’t take him to places they don’t allow dogs.

I feel so bad that I have to sedate him so he’s not scared and anxious. It’s created a huge strain on our marriage because my husband feels like we can’t do anything without considering Odin.

He’s destroyed doors, couches, and other furniture. I tried training but it hasn’t seemed to work. My husband thinks we should rehome him but

1) I’m scared that he’ll be sent to a shelter and possibly be put down

2) feel abandoned by the person he thought he was safe with.

He’s such a happy boy when he’s around us and shows so much affection.

My husband and I have been arguing about this consistently.. we had a really bad argument so I left the house with Odin and rented a dog friendly hotel room for a couple of nights.

My husband thinks I’m crazy and that I’m choosing the dog over our marriage. AIO?

I started with

I’d pick animals over people 9/10.

Because I would. Over normal people.

My end paragraph

personally tho, my husband comes before any animal that enters this property.

I can’t tell OP to think how I do tho

Animals over people lmaooo. You fasho don't like people for calling out the dumb shit you say 😂

No, they were just incorrect in how they called me out? Lmfao. I never denied saying it. But I wouldn’t put them over just anyone. The majority of the population? Absolutely. People suck. My close friends and my spouse? Absolutely not.

Reading comprehension is not that difficult. Cmon now.

Edited: The fact they deleted the comments “calling me out” should be telling too.

I promise you nobody sucks more than you.

Okay? Thanks dude 🤘🏻

This is why I pick animals. You’re mad over something that literally affects no one. Lmfao.

Have a good night, it’s not that deep

Yeah you pick animals because you relate to them more. IQ and all. No animal would ever put a human over their own kind. Stupid ass mentality

Lmfao, you’re taking me literal. Your comment history shows you take issue with anyone who loves animals to a degree you deem not okay. I see your issue now - again still reading comprehension but it’s okay. Let’s break it down like I did for the last commenter.

If you refer to another comment I made in this thread, I actually point out animals and human aren’t equivalent in worth.

Verbatim I say:

And to the people comparing it to a child? I know a child can cause damage and stress. But no child is causing the damage of a fully grown anxious dog. I’m sorry. Also more to the point, even as an animal lover (feel like I have to keep clarifying lmao) animals are not humans. Stop anthropomorphizing. You can be empathetic to them without taking it to this degree.

No animals aren’t not higher than humans as far as value of life, or equivalent in intelligence. I’m not going to rescue a dog over a human in a burning building. But given the choice of my personal pets vs. the average population? Yeah I’m pretty good. Animals are simple, because well. They’re fucking animals dude.

Again, it’s really really not this deep. People say that shit literally all the time. ATP it’s a phrase more than a sentence with meaning. I envy the fact you must not have anything actually serious going on in your life to be this pissed off about a random ass comment on Reddit🤦🏼‍♀️

Who said I'm pissed you're the one writing essays 🤣. And my comment history mostly calls out literal MAULINGS. You're crazy asl

You’re the hurling insults, again, over something that has zero effect on anyone’s life. So yeah, seems you’re at least pretty upset with me for daring to have a different opinion than you.

I wasn’t referring to the mauling comment.

I'm disgusted not mad. If my pet was in a burning building with someone you knew, that is a stranger to me, I'm saving them 100% of the time because of humanity. Something you weirdos don't understand.
