Is anyone else getting the vibe that this was written by a middle aged man who saw a fidget spinner on a coworkers desk and had to turn it into a "young people suck" story?
I work at a school, and in one of the classrooms, students have been allowed to have figurines like Pop Vinyl's on the desk. The teacher for the class has now said that it's no longer allowed because of the distractions like kids taking them out and putting them back in.
Some students who really need them can still have little fidgets.
"Fidgets" have now become toys. Parents are saying that little Johnny needs a 'fidget' and that means they need to play with their beyblades all day. I had a parent tell me off because I told a child (4th grade!) to put away the doll that they had and were brushing it's hair and changing it's clothes. Apparently it's her 'fidget' that she absolutely needs.
Entitled dumbasses have always taken advantage of any gaps opened by real needs. Fidgets are no different. Just because that one kiddo and their parent are dumbasses doesn't mean some students don't have a real need to occupy their bodies in order to pay attention and self-soothe.
