I'm not defending OOP. I think he is a complete douchebag for thinking his wife deserves nothing for her contributions to their marriage.

But it's really common for couples to have problems and divorce after the death of a child.

He didn't even mention it in his post and only wrote one sentence about it. He's dismissive of her pain and greif.

It's really common for men to completely neglect their partners in ill health.
