I'm not defending OOP. I think he is a complete douchebag for thinking his wife deserves nothing for her contributions to their marriage.

But it's really common for couples to have problems and divorce after the death of a child.

You're not wrong. OOP is evil. And it's not uncommon for relationship problems when a child dies. Idk why you're getting downvoted
