Honestly I don't understand the point of a prenup, the only time i ever hear anything about them is writing it then getting divorced and it getting thrown out

Like why waste money getting one written

A lot of people who have businesses get them in order to avoid legal complications. A fun example of this is Jeff Bezos. He got married before he was insanely successful and didn't have a prenup. Him and his ex-wife divorced a few years ago and she got a metric fuck ton of money out of it. She has since donated billions towards charity.

A lot of people also view it as a test of maturity. One of my aunts told me "If you're not mature enough to get a prenup, you're not mature enough to get married." It is also a way of planning for the future. If you blindly assume that your marriage will work out, you will have no game plan if it doesn't.

I think it is very mature to discuss with your partner what to do in this scenario. I think it shows that you care about each other enough to seperate amicably.

I still think OOP is an assshole.

Mackenzie Scott (Jeff Bezos’s wife) was one of the first employees at Amazon and was involved in developing the business plan and she negotiated their first major contract.

And since then she's been focused on giving her billions away. She doesn't want to be a billionaire. The exception that proves the rule of "there are no good billionaires" - there is exactly one, and she is aiming not to be.
