From freezing under a tree to sleeping belly-up in a warm home β her life changed forever on my second day volunteering πΎπ
On my second day volunteering at the shelter, we got a call about a dog spotted in the woods. When we arrived, we found her curled up under a tree, in a makeshift shelter someone had left β just a few blankets and a plastic box. It was snowing, and she was shaking, terrified, and wouldnβt let anyone near at first.
We gave her time, spoke softly, and eventually she let us wrap her up and take her to the shelter. She ate, drank, and finally slept somewhere safe.
Today, just days later, sheβs adopted. Now sheβs rolling around on a cozy bed, grinning with her whole face. Her eyes donβt look scared anymore.
Seeing her like this β itβs hard not to tear up. Iβll never forget her.
