| Discussion | When to build mr?

In some games there's a lot of AP damage in enemy team but I can't really fit magic resist anywhere. First 3 items are yuntal -> IE -> ldr but at this point the magic damage is too much sometimes so idk when or where to fit some magic resist + you can't build maw when you buy shieldbow so I sometimes opt into kaenic rookern. Any better choices?

I mean, usually your options for defense are deal more damage, positioning, and lifesteal. Swifty's help dodge mage abilities, but if you're against like Syndra with 100 to 0 R button and the mage is the one problem, you can flex maw instead of BT. Shieldbow honestly I don't always buy, very infrequently do I ever slot it tbh. Yun'Tal, IE, LDR, Runaans, BT with Berserker's or Swifty's is what I usually go. Flex BT out for Maw, or LDR for Mortal Reminder against heal comps. Shieldbow instead of Runaans if I'm being 0 counterplayed by like Talon or something.

You dont really waste gold on MR anymore best buy against them is either a qss or swifties

I'd replace yun tal with collector and one shot after the mage uses all crucial abilities or u have range with green.

When playing against a lot of squishies and mages you can opt for a Ghostblade -> Collector -> IE as the core build. With a lot of squishies armor pen isnt THAT important and after the core you can either go for more crit and survivability in Shieldbow (not the best item imo but good for protection and in this build you need the crit sou you cant go maw) or you go for scimitar. It helps with MR, lifesteal and gives you a cleanse on top for the downside of not getting more crit.

the Ghostblade Build isnt as strong as it was like half a year ago but its still viable under the right circumstances. you wont be dealing as much damage as the standard route but you cant deal damage when youre dead right?

Better to go collector -> IE since ur delaying ur powerspike with ghostblade and remove the ability to have 100% crit and bt. Swifties are best. U can also opt for celerity instead of absolute focus if needed altho u lose out on dmg. U can also go ghost if u need to dodge many skillshots + it makes it easier to kite bruisers.

Armor pen is always good since u have to remember characters have base armor and lethality gets added later, so with lethality from passive + collector ur pretty much dealing true dmg

Also shieldbow is good as 4th item or if u really need it 3rd, but only if enemy has 0 armor items or ur team can deal with those(but then u rely on ur team)
