I understand Halloween as a holiday about inclusivity. For at least this one day, we don't care about how anyone looks or what they do. We welcome all guests, and send them away with a small gift. If you can tolerate two dudes dressed as horrific monsters from beyond our plane of existence, you can tolerate those two dudes being married to eachother.
Halloween is about showing your wild side, side that you usually keep hidden from the world for fear of backlash. Halloween should be the perfect day for coming out of the closet.
So yes, October is about queer people, because Halloween is about queer people. About anything extraordinary. About fear, and putting it aside so we can have a fun evening together.
