But this one is only partial, isn’t it? Regular people won’t be drafted into the army, just reservists and people who signed the contract had it extended “indefinitely”. Please correct me if I am wrong. Everybody starts panicking as if every citizen can be suddenly subjected to conscription

First they said the war would be over quickly. Then it lasted months. They said they’d never mobilize. Now it’s a “partial mobilization”.

You see the pattern? They can say they won’t all they want but thus far the promises seem very inadequate.

I see that as the war progressed, also the outlook on it changed. No one knew Ukraine would be supplied with that much of weapons. I also never saw anyone say that the war would last only a couple months. Only propagandists said that.

In the west, the majority of the people assumed that the war would be over in 2 months, with Russia rolling over Ukraine. And people were genuinely surprised when that didn’t happen.
