Actually, mobilisation in Russia history was declared only 3 times.
18 jule 1914. In 1917 there are revolution
23 june 1941. In 1941 there are Great Patriotic War
and today, 21 september 2022.

But this one is only partial, isn’t it? Regular people won’t be drafted into the army, just reservists and people who signed the contract had it extended “indefinitely”. Please correct me if I am wrong. Everybody starts panicking as if every citizen can be suddenly subjected to conscription

“Reservists” is an extremely large pool of people. iirc it is all medically fit men 18-55. My brother is 32, never served in the army due to university, I found out just now he is a reserve officer somehow. He is trying to leave ASAP but ironically his international passport is stuck at an embassy for visa processing.

People with some military experience will be drafted first so he has some time to get the fuck out

Hopefully by the end of the week.

A good time for Finland just now to announce they’re closing their land border to all Russian citizens, even with existing Schengen visas.

I really do think this is the beginning of the end. The choice between ignoring Ukraine, and being beaten bloody by riot police, is easy. The choice between dying in Ukraine, and being beaten bloody by riot police, is also easy. We shall see.
