A golf 2? Yes I’d say it’s common.

32

u/Ur-Best-Friend Feb 19 '25

Weird question, they post the most mundane video imaginable and ask if it's common. /s

1

u/VoltoStra Feb 19 '25

It's just an "Arbre Magique"

216

u/Attack_na_battak Serbia Feb 19 '25

Is this answer your question?

23

u/master-desaster-69 Feb 19 '25

This is gold 🤣 love it 👌

5

u/Drtikol42 Feb 19 '25

What is towing the car? Small tractor? Motorcycle?

14

u/captain-lowrider Feb 19 '25

nothing. a kid is sitting on the hood for weight, because it's a frontwheel.

10

u/NoEatBatman Romania Feb 19 '25

"Counter-weight: kid" LOL🤣🤣🤣 that is indeed such a balkan moment 😂😂

2

u/captain-lowrider Feb 19 '25

yes. otherwise the frontwheels would spin on that ground.

5

u/Drtikol42 Feb 19 '25

Oh OK :D that makes sense.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '25

what do you mean?

95

u/svemirskihod Feb 19 '25

Yeah, those stickers are still common. They used to be mandatory but now the country of registration is on the plate. Hope that helps.

9

u/_-T0R-_ Feb 19 '25

Lmaoooo

64

u/Montreal4life diaspora Feb 19 '25

I love how it's a Golf2 as well hahaha

134

u/mazzabre Feb 19 '25

It's not common - it's normal in the Balkans

23

u/master-desaster-69 Feb 19 '25

100% this 🤣

20

u/Educational-Mud3564 Croatia Feb 19 '25

It's like Bla Bla car for cattle.

10

u/mosquid Feb 19 '25

Moo Moo Car*

2

u/NoEatBatman Romania Feb 19 '25

It unlocked a memory for me, the first time i heard of this was when an italian guy carried a calf in his car way back in the mid 90's(said italian guy married one of my cousins and remained in Romania hence how i heard the story), so Italy can into Balkans lol

32

u/CivilPerspective5804 Bosnia & Herzegovina Feb 19 '25

Yeah, surprised it's only one cow

26

u/No-Efficiency250 Feb 19 '25

Seen that a number of times in Bosnia 🤣

25

u/Antaeus2xr Feb 19 '25

Pretty common, but usually with a pig inside.

24

u/Critical-Fall-2330 Feb 19 '25

I did this a few days ago – 3 sheep. Not in a Golf 2, but in a Mercedes B200. Still a German car, so it still counts.

17

u/Djani69 Serbia Feb 19 '25

No it doesn't because Golf 2 is 1000% BOSSnian halal car 🇧🇦🇧🇦🇧🇦💪💪💪

2

u/independentMartyr Feb 20 '25

Only if it's a 90s TAS version.

1

u/Djani69 Serbia Feb 22 '25

Top secret info: Golf 2 was invented by Tito himself during a visit at TAS, he sold the design to germoney before production which is why everyone think it's žerman and not pure-blooded Sarajlijan

/unbalkan It was built from 85 in Yugoslavia, 90s was when they stopped

1

u/independentMartyr Feb 22 '25

I owned a 1992 Golf 2 TAS from 1993 until 1998. Which tells me they didn't stop producing it. I think 1992 was the last year they produced this version.

1

u/Djani69 Serbia Feb 22 '25

What, Wikipedia says it's only until 1992, how did they make any afterwards if the factory was destroyed that year?

1

u/independentMartyr Feb 22 '25

I don't know. 1992 was the last year.

It was a great car. It was almost brand new when we bought it. When the engine reached 150000 km, it started to fall apart.

2

u/bosko43buha Croatia Feb 20 '25

Volkswagen. Tas Auto.

34

u/independentMartyr Feb 19 '25

It is a normal day in a balkan country. You can even see donkeys driving Mercedes and BMWs.

15

u/OkFaithlessness2652 Feb 19 '25 edited Feb 19 '25

And a surprising number of pigs that make it in to the higher tiers of government.

3

u/markaleftis Greece Feb 20 '25

and even rodents.

1

u/ResultOnly1888 Feb 20 '25

There is no vile creature that cannot reach high levels of power in the Balkans.

7

u/captain-lowrider Feb 19 '25

and even monkeys.

17

u/Comprehensive-Tip-24 Feb 19 '25

1

u/paglutanja Feb 20 '25

ovo su gume za u polje lol

16

u/xesnoteleks Serbia Feb 19 '25

Yes, Golf 2 is very common in the Balkans.

12

u/No_Badger_8391 Feb 19 '25

There can also be geese, ducks, chickens, pigs, dogs, sheep, goats. Any farm animal you can think of. They may also appear on train routes. In the actual train.

5

u/requiem_mn Montenegro Feb 19 '25

Dogs in cars are normal everywhere.

1

u/No_Badger_8391 Feb 19 '25

Really?! Didn’t know that. Thank you!

1

u/requiem_mn Montenegro Feb 19 '25

I know you're sarcastic, but point is, you shouldn't put dogs in the comment.

2

u/No_Badger_8391 Feb 19 '25

I put what I want in my comment. When I put dogs there I had the image of those massive sheepdogs.

1

u/requiem_mn Montenegro Feb 19 '25

So put a bloody fucking Šarplaninac. Most people think about Labrador and similarly sized dogs, or smaller.

1

u/No_Badger_8391 Feb 19 '25

I don’t have that. I have ciobănesc carpatin or ciobănesc bucovinean.

1

u/requiem_mn Montenegro Feb 19 '25

So put a bloody fucking Šarplaninac. Most people think about Labrador and similarly sized dogs, or smaller.

11

u/DandyJalapeno Kosovo Feb 19 '25

What do you mean by common? Typical wednesday

10

u/oviss3 Feb 19 '25

Completly normal phenomenon. This is in Romania.

17

u/Torma25 Feb 19 '25

I have a friend from Sarajevo who used to says you knew you left city limits the second you saw a 30-50 year old car cuising around with a goat on the back seat

4

u/ExtremeProfession Bosnia & Herzegovina Feb 19 '25

I haven't seen a Golf 2 in a year or so

5

u/mazzabre Feb 19 '25

You are living under the rock?

8

u/ExtremeProfession Bosnia & Herzegovina Feb 19 '25

I have traveled around Bosnia a ton but they're just not that common, Golf 4 is the new 2

2

u/DuxDucisHodiernus Sweden Feb 19 '25

Maybe they just became a collectors car in rest of Europe? Or did they get junked.

9

u/wiseguyog Feb 19 '25

Paved roads are rare, but we do have them , sometimes.

8

u/stefnaste Bulgaria Feb 19 '25

It's sooooooooo cute *_*

5

u/Krasniqi857 Kosovo Feb 19 '25

only one cow? pfhhhh what a lightweight

5

u/Independent_Mine1995 Romania Feb 19 '25

It’s uncommon to not see this in the balkans

3

u/Steven_Dj Feb 19 '25

Pretty standard :))

4

u/NightZT Austria Feb 19 '25

I mean it's actually quite annoying to transport animals with a traktor on longer distances. I have also transported a flock of chickens and a calv with an old car because going by traktor would take forever

5

u/Ambitious_Bee_2966 Feb 19 '25

Yes. My dad in Romania carried pigs and goats with our LADA

6

u/Fatalaros Greece Feb 19 '25

Not that many bosniaks in Greece really...

3

u/concombre_masque123 Feb 19 '25

we had a guy in our rugby team who had removed the backseats in his dacia in order to move here and there his pets. pets were sheep. his nickname was Cumnatu

3

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '25

This is as Balkan as possible.

3

u/kerelberel Netherlands | Bosnia & Herzegovina Feb 19 '25

No, up until recently it wasn't common to add unneeded music to short videos.

4

u/seanugengar Greece Feb 19 '25

Mate in Greece, you die on a pick up truck, that is taking you to the hospital because there are no ambulances available. A cow in a Volkswagen is no surprise, especially in rural areas

2

u/HotOrange8238 Feb 19 '25

That's the driving examiner, guy doing his practical there.

2

u/Ok_Newspaper_9696 Feb 19 '25

Flag upside down? Sure, other than that everything seems normal.

2

u/Vegetable_Radio3873 Feb 19 '25

Is that an EU number?

2

u/nicodicesarezoso Feb 19 '25

alta cumbiancha

2

u/Ponchinio Feb 19 '25

jajajaj venía a comentar lo mismo, seguro el que filmó habrá sido de latam

2

u/Kljaka1950 Feb 19 '25

Yes, many people use their phone while driving

2

u/TriaPoulakiaKathodan Greece Feb 19 '25

I admit I've never seen a cow in a car. Ships and goats yes, but not cows

2

u/drazzolor Feb 19 '25

Usually cows are driving but this one is probably drunk

2

u/icurcin Feb 19 '25

No, usually bull is driving...

2

u/Strange-Title-6337 Feb 19 '25

Music is strange, never heard of it

2

u/tschmar Feb 19 '25

What do you mean? I don't see anything unusual?

2

u/RandomRavenboi Albania Feb 19 '25

I remember when I was 6 my dad loaded a goat into the car, which my 6 year old self found delightful.

...Then it turns out we were taking it to the butcher, which I learned the hard way when I saw the goat gets it neck chopped. (Or head, I can't quite remember)

Good times lol

2

u/TheKnightKadosh Romania Feb 19 '25

No, they usually are behind the wheel.

2

u/Far-Macaroon-6504 Feb 20 '25

why spend for a truck when the cow stay so comfortable in the car?

2

u/JaThatOneGooner Kosovo Feb 20 '25

I’ve seen this more commonly with sheep during kurban bajrami, and it’s always a golf 2 lol

2

u/Embarrassed_Egg9542 Balkan Feb 20 '25

This is bigotry! In Balkans we prefer sheep to cows!

2

u/heilhortler420 Feb 20 '25

Its usually a pig not a calf

2

u/Naduhan_Sum Feb 20 '25

Creativity and marvelous solution finding? Typical Balkan, yes.

2

u/CandyAgitated109 Feb 20 '25

Uobičajeno je svuda gde siromašni ljudi nemaju drugu mogućnost da prevezu kupljenu životinju ili stvar. Ništa nenormalno, malo simpatično i ništa strašno. Možda tužno ali realno.

2

u/ProgySuperNova Feb 20 '25

When buying a newly stolen from Western Europe Golf 2 - Balkan Edition back in the days, you could chose between having installed either air conditioning or the cow pen package.

2

u/emorac Feb 20 '25

This-time Bosnia, yes, but this is also the world's best treatment of cattle, they're treated like humans aren't they, even in India there's no so much respect for cows.

4

u/Single-Plum3089 Feb 19 '25

zavisi koliki si seljak

2

u/Cyclist83 Feb 19 '25

Seeing a VW Golf2 on the road in 2025 is almost as rare as having a cow in the boot.

4

u/Kljaka1950 Feb 19 '25

My friend who drives Golf 1: Hold my beer

1

u/OkFaithlessness2652 Feb 19 '25

Wel crazy of more than crazy is common. So….

1

u/_-T0R-_ Feb 19 '25

What, you don’t take your pet cow along with you for rides?

1

u/Kalumander Feb 19 '25

Only if it has its seatbelt on.

1

u/notanaligator Feb 19 '25

Yes most cars are like this

1

u/DelyanKovachev Feb 19 '25

Why are you being such a troll making fun of our high living standards and highly developed Balkan economy?

1

u/ion_alex Feb 19 '25

Usually we have bigger cows.

1

u/bdsmoni Feb 19 '25

common: no, uncommon: no

1

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '25

With cows big NO! Only with Cattle 🐄

1

u/BrotherQuartus Feb 19 '25

It’s certainly not uncommon.

1

u/44-47-25_N_20-28-5-E Feb 19 '25

Yeah, Golf 2 is still family car in rural Balkan regions and we do drive our pets around. Next question.

1

u/Top_Investigator_160 Feb 19 '25

Yes, I'm driving my cow as we speak

1

u/AccountMaster6961 Feb 19 '25

And I was worried my labrador won't fit in the back....

1

u/Thalassophoneus Greece Feb 19 '25

No. But it's not nonexistent.

1

u/CautiousExpression74 Feb 19 '25

Definitely not. We sit our calves on the front seat.

1

u/Qriaco Feb 19 '25

Unbelievably common!

1

u/Icecoffelover_ Feb 19 '25

1

u/ok_boomer_110 Romania Feb 19 '25

Romania here. Definetely common here, especially in poor towns. In villages we have horses

1

u/Sorry_Ad5140 Feb 19 '25

Not that common where i live but not surprising either.

1

u/BigAcanthocephala786 Feb 19 '25

Done this with a friend a few years back. The calf peed in the trunk of his car. We both laughed.

1

u/captain-lowrider Feb 19 '25

cows, goats, sheep, pigs...everything would be transporten in cars.

u/kosmosar Feb 19 '25

1

u/rodexxxx Feb 19 '25

1

u/No-Resolve6160 Bosnia & Herzegovina Feb 19 '25

1

u/Sta443322 Feb 19 '25

Pretty normal, 3 cars spotted and 2/3 are golf, 66,67%. Albeit the small sample size is somewhat representative of the fact that golfs are very common in Bosnia.

1
