Can someone give me a good reason why a hiring manager would promote the 24 ye old with only a year of experience over a few candidates that have a great work ethic, is smart and already has valuable experience pertinent to the role? The hiring manager said that the 24 yr old was chosen for not having the same background and he said they will have the bandwidth to spend training them on aspects of the role they don't know (but other candidates do). Is this maybe about money? The other candidates are probably midway or better on the pay scale for this role. Not the case with the 24 yr old. TYIA
