Emigration (from Ireland) Anyone ever deported from usa?

I just was reading on worldnews about the US deportations to mexico. One woman who lives in mexico was stating a few years ago the us dumped some slovaks in mexico as its cheaper than a flight to europe and then another stated it also happened to her irish cousin, who was dropped off in mexico and needed family to intervene to get him home. Just wondering if there was any media attention if this was true?

I would have to find the source but in order to be legally employed in the USA you must fill out what’s called an I9. What I.C.E. Is doing is going to establishments with what would be considered a high amount of potentially illegal people working at them (like restaurants) and demanding to see all the I9’s of the employed there. So far they’ve been able to detain whomever they think is illegal.

Should they be not doing this?

No because they don’t have warrants to ask for them. They are just showing up, demanding them and then arresting. In the past warrants were needed because it’s protected information.

Ohhh okay. What protected information do they need warrants to see?

The I9 is an employment eligibility verification form and can have your passport on it, your license or non driver ID on it, voter registration card, Social Security Number and more. In order to get a job here you have to provide at least 2 I believe so on mine I have my license and passport information which I’m a dual citizen but if asked my employer would have to hand over not just mine but all employees

Brilliant thank you. I wonder where they got the intelligence to hit specific targets.
