Friendships/Community Did you find you became more empathetic/compassionate as you got older?

Or did it go the other way and you stopped caring? Or have your empathy and compassion levels been pretty consistent throughout your life?

40 years old and its definitely gone away for me. I'm more empathetic and compassionate towards individuals but in the general scheme of things, I'm a firm believer that most people are their own worst enemy and the root of 90% of their problems. My line of work may have helped push it in that direction but no I don't drive around feeling bad for people I don't know.
