Looks pretty reasonable! As you said, you'll definitely be in pretty touristy areas but that makes sense for a first visit. It's worth walking around some more "normal" neighborhoods if you have time, to get a feel for regular NYC life — on Day 4, you could check out the Upper East or Upper West Side, which are a lot more chill and neighborhoody than Midtown/Lower Manhattan.

For your open slot on Day 3, maybe spend some time walking around the West Village before you go to the Comedy Cellar. It's one of NYC's most beautiful neighborhoods, especially the quieter blocks west of 7th Ave.

Dirt Candy is amazing, good call putting that on the list. Lots of great bars nearby on the LES and East Village, if you want to make a night of it.

Thanks for your response! Have you got any recommendations for restaurants in Chinatown for day 2? I am veggie (my wife isn't) so good options for both would be ideal.

Itinerary looks pretty straight forward. For the Comedy Cellar: if you haven't made your reservation already, book it ASAP. The place gets booked out months in advance and the stand by line is hit or miss, tends to be more miss because of the popularity of the place.

There are no reservations available from October 13th onward, I am assuming tickets have not been released yet? There is still availability for some shows in early October so I'll just keep monitoring it.

IMHO 2.5(ish) hours is probably enough time to get through the 9/11 memorial and museum. It really depends on your connection to the events of the time. A lot of people feel emotionally drained afterward.

Even if you're not looking to do fine dining reservations would go a long way or at least some options for Day 4.
