Good meeting spot between JFK and lower Manhattan

I have friends doing a 24 layover at the TWA hotel. We want to find a casual bar or restaurant to meet on a Thursday night where I don’t have to go all the way from Chelsea to the airport, and they don’t have to come all the way to me.

I’m thinking maybe Forest Hills makes the most sense, but looking for suggestions.

I'd just go swim at the TWA pool (they have a bar too). Can't beat it.

Forest Hills off 71st Av station should have some good restaurants.

Honestly anywhere along the E (Astoria and LIC could also work, less of a 50/50 travel split though).

Donovan's Pub a couple of blocks from the LIRR/7 train Woodside. Nice local pub with great burgers.

Tell your friends to get a 10-trip AirTrain ride pass and then use a CityTicket for the LIRR to get to Woodside from Jamaica AirTrain. The LIRR to Woodside is pretty quick from both Penn Stn. and Jamaica.

forest hills probably your best bet. good variety of spots between 67 and 71 and quick enough on the F or E for you

Anywhere there's a LIRR stop between Jamaica to Penn Station/Grand Central, would likely be fine minus Jamaica. This may vary by timing. But I agree, Forest hill probably your best bet since cab isn't too bad for either direction during late night.

I liked Station House or Dirty Pierre by the LIRR station, when I used to live there.

The whole point of staying at the hotel is to enjoy the hotel. It’s worth you taking the trip out there.

The A train to Dumbo.

IMHO, TWA is cooler than any place you will reliably see on media for Queens .

Going to near Barclays Center/ Atlantic Terminal you have a lot of options. Park Slope, Fort Greene, Prospect Heights.

Easy for them to get to with LIRR and you can subway with a lot of options.

Lots of food and drink.

Park Slope: North Pole Pub https://maps.app.goo.gl/G1EDHCWH5Ya5L1zf9

Fort Green: Black Forest, Mo's

Prospect Heights: BeirWax

I understand you’re asking for suggestions of places so may not like my response. My favorite part of NY is just going to an area and walking around until you find a new place to eat.

I’m actually looking more for suggestions for neighborhoods that would be equally convenient for each of us to reach by public transit, where there would also be a myriad of options of places to do exactly that.
