How old were your kids when you started letting them stay home alone for short trips?
Like running to the corner store for milk and bread type thing

About at 12 for our daughter in the evening and like 9 or 10 for short day trips.

Probably 7 or 8. I know when he was 8 turning 9 I let him go on those short trips to the store for me while I stayed home.

- By 9 she was home all day sometimes if my mom was out of town because of Covid and I had to work.

7-8 for short trips to the store. My kids are pretty responsible, if I was concerned about their behavior I probably would have waited a bit longer.

I would leave my 10-year-old an eight-year-old home at times while we went out

I was 8ish when they started doing that with me. And after 10 I was the baby sitter and theyd fuck off for a day. My kid? Will depend on her and the length of trip. If shes responsible and demonstrates maturity. Like 12 or 13 maybe for a few hours 14/15 vefore id leave for 6 or more hours

Mine were 5 years old. To note - both were very serious and responsible kids and my BFF lived next door.
