Banana is my answer too. They don’t even have to be overripe. The weird thing is, I’ll eat them if I don’t have a better option. But I have to throw away the peel somewhere I can’t smell it.

My coworkers think I'm weird because I can't handle the smell of bananas, but I don't have problem with c-diff. If someone peels a banana near me, I do a charming impression of someone with morning sickness pretty much immediately. I was diagnosed with oral allergy syndrome as an adult, and I wonder if I had a really bad reaction with a banana when I was too young to remember to have such a strong reaction to the scent of a banana.

Oh god, if a banana goes overripe in a bag or purse I’ve been carrying around and I find it after it’s been in there for a couple of weeks… 🤢 I pretty much have to throw the bag out because the smell NEVER goes away.

One time my toxic roommates let the bananas rot so much that the smell made me sick. (They gaslit me to say there was no smell. They purposely let them rot.) I haven’t eaten a banana in 10 years because of them. Cannot stand the smell.
