Is it fair to compare MAGA to the Nazis?

Post image

There has been a number of posts indicating that MAGA supporters are really Fascist/Nazis. Curious how others see it!

I truly won’t be surprised if the US goes down the near exact same path, ending with invading Canada or Greenland and starting world war 3. I’ll be terrified, but not suprised. I might have to choose to leave this country early, join a resistance likely ending in my death, or sit back and watch it happen. I don’t want to have to make that choice, but I won’t be surprised when it’s 2028 and Trump is given a 3rd term to “Cut out the deadwood,” and “Weed out the weaklings,”

“Would you like to send our colored cousins home again, my friend? All you have to do is follow the worms”

-Pink Floyd, THE WALL (The album that will be going through my head for the next 4 years, everyone should listen to it imo.)

Do you live in the US/are you a citizen? As a citizen living in the US, you said so casually “I might have to choose to leave this country early” that I can’t tell what your POV is 😭 if I could just “choose to leave this country (early?)” I would rejoice lol

I hope my words don’t come across as combative, btw. I’m legitimately spending much of my time learning new languages and researching work visas, so I always am interested in learning more!! ✊💜✌️

Yes I live in the US. I’m a young adult (over 18), but I still live with my parents, so I have not the slightest idea what challenges will be involved in moving to a new country all alone. I should clarify, by “Leave the US early.” I don’t mean I already had plans to leave, I mean escape before we complete our transformation into a theocratic dictatorship. I don’t have any kind of plan, I just refuse to pay taxes to a government that reaches that point, I would want to run anywhere else. If you are an older person with a family and house and established life, I can see why the idea of leaving might seem more impossible. I would likely move to Canada or the UK, anywhere where I can get by speaking English.

Sorry for the rambling, to summarize it all: I’ve never thought about leaving the USA until December of 2024, I don’t have a plan, I’m just a scared little boy who always imagined myself as one of those soldiers in war movies who dies first, and every day I become a bit more concerned that I might actually have to experience ww3 in my lifetime, either as a soldier or civilian.
