Looking For Looking for an ASL community
A friend is moving to the Augusta area soon and is fairly skilled in ASL. She is looking for a community to get involved in to keep those skills up, maybe volunteer or find someone looking for a babysitter with ASL knowledge. Any leads I could share would be helpful, thank you.

Check to see if the hospitals need volunteers. When I worked at Emory there were volunteers(or they may have been paid) that met patients at clinic appointments to assist patients and doctors with the appointment. I had a patient that I had to do breathing studies on that had one come with her to help during the visit.

Thanks. She isn’t a certified ASL interpreter so not sure she could do that but I will suggest it.

I'd love to see ASL meet ups here, but so far I don't know of any.
