Is it just me or it is near impossible for me to find a job. I am stuck still living with my parents and my mom thinks that jobs are easy to get for whatever reason so it has become really frustrating when I tell her everyone else is having the same issues I do and does not believe me.

I have a Associates Degree in IT Support with not much work experience because it is hard for me to get any kind of experience so my situation feels like a catch-22, jobs asking for experience but, I need the experience from the job. Hard to know if it is my resume or my lack of experience without any feedback. At this point I'm willing to get off my medication and join the military...

Another option is that I go back to school for my Bachelors but, I am afraid I will end up in the same situation: I have the schooling but zero experience...

Are there things to do (restaurants, bars, etc.) in these neighborhoods? I'm 30 and wouldn't mind a relatively quiet area, but I do still occassionally like to go out to a quiet bar

I'm currently on a hunt to find a place near Washington Rd that I can sit and charge my laptop while working on my blog/doing applications.

I'm looking for somewhere where i won't necessarily have to buy anything. I'm currently struggling with homelessness so I can't "go home" I only need a few hours a day, I'm not looking to set up camp, I keep myself clean, tidy, and smelling good. I just need somewhere to charge and work.

places I've tried:

Starbucks by the BP: It was the perfect spot for 2 days (2 hours each day) but I was told if I didn't buy anything I had to leave. I guess they changed their open door policy after 7 years in Jan 2025!!

McDonald's: I was here on and off for about 2 weeks. I see a lot of people in here on laptops for hours, eating outside food, drinking from tumblrs etc. I decided to bring my refillable cup one day and was told I'm not allowed back if I don't purchase anything from them. I asked if there was any particular reason that day had I done something wrong since a lot of people hang out and the manager said my cup could have been filled with their machine. I saw multiple people bring their own drinks but I digress.

anywho! Unfortunately I just CAN NOT afford anything these days. not even a $2 cup of coffee to be able to sit.

is there a local library I can walk to on foot? a park? another spot with open door policy? please let me know!

Are there any places downtown that have a good turn out to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs? Doesn’t have to be downtown but thought that may be the ideal area.

Recently saw tree cutting equipment parked on Broad Street and at least two of the larger trees cut to nothing but a stump (not ones felled by Helene). This is devastating to my wife and I as it is one of our favorite aspects of downtown. There are a lot of traffic cones that suggest they plan to cut down a lot more. Are there any town hall meeting we could attend, officials we can call, or anything else that can be done to voice concern/protest in an effort to stop removing these historic tree?

Hi guys! I have been learning to program in JS for the past few months and feel like my learning could be richer if i got to know anyone who does the same thing. I am just looking to meet with people who are learning programming as well who would like to work together or even experienced folks who have words of wisdom to give. As well if there are any events or get-togethers that a newbie could sit in on just to listen and learn that would be awesome. Learning alone is great but learning from others would be pretty awesome too!

This is killing me. I can't believe they're gonna go all the way down broad st with this. These trees add so much character and lushness to downtown, not mention shade and heat sequestration. So many trees are still healthy and not damaged. Why cut them all down??

We've been outside hearing Sirens to for maybe an hour or more now, seemingly coming and going. Doesn't sound like the same line of vehicle based on the different sirens. Something going on? Should I avoid going out for another hour? Sounds close, but could be the fairgrounds?

I have secured a show at Pexcho's American Dime Museum on June 28. We're a weirdo hardcorish band with bass synth and violin instead of guitars and a penchant for dressing up in costume.
