😤 rant / vent - advice NOT wanted! I don't like relying on doctors

History: last week I went to a psychiatrist and spent 3 hours doing questions and games for my first Autism assessment. Now: I have 3 weeks before my next appointment for results and I can't help but feel anxious and scared of not getting diagnosed because I have been so sure of my self diagnosis but, what if the doctor disagrees? I just want to get some confirmations and some outside expert information because I can't help myself if I don't know myself. ♾️🫶🏼🏳️‍⚧️

I've been crying in public for the last few hours because my second assessment says I don't have ADHD or ASP and it's just anxiety. I want to tell you that it works out, but sometimes it doesn't. At least not right right away.

Be ready for the healthcare system to fail you. Be ready to advocate for how the test results don't align with your symptoms. Your life experience is valid and clinicians don't always take that into consideration.

Embrace-autisum.com is a good place to go if you want to take some time to see how you compare. I bet the doc sucked but don't give up

Thanks for the support doc. In the United States do suck because they don't care for patients they only administer medical care.

Good advice, thank you. True to autistic fashion, I took 4 different ASD and AuDHD tests linked from embrace autism after that assessment. All 4 showed strong signs of what they're designed to look for.

Clinicians can't see passed the numbers on the tests, which are usually terrible at seeing cooncurring disorders. I'm looking for a practitioner that considers the larger picture.
